Abstract:
In an electronic imaging apparatus, image information of an image signal photoelectrically converted from an image incident is stored in image information storing means in a format dependent upon a type of the applied storage device. Provided therein are communication means for transmitting and/or receiving image information generated in this apparatus or the other equivalent apparatuses while an operation mode of the apparatus is set for communication and switch means for causing the communication means to start a communication mode operation.
Abstract:
By connecting to or mounting a first storage medium that stores image data as a retrieval object (e.g. first memory card 121) and a second storage medium that stores a retrieve condition (e.g. non-volatile memory 111 or second memory card 122), an imaging apparatus 100 can store image data as a retrieval object and a retrieve condition on different storage medium. By replacing the first storage medium with a third storage medium, image retrieval can be executed for a plurality of storage medium using the same retrieve condition.
Abstract:
A digital camera generates principal image data of a predetermined size and backup image data of a maximum size, and records the principal image data and the backup image data in a memory card and an internal memory respectively. In a resize processing in a replay mode, if the backup image data corresponding to the principal image data has been recorded, and a designated size is larger than the principal image data, a resize processing section reads the backup image data from the internal memory and performs the resize processing to the backup image data.
Abstract:
An external storage device is connected to an image pickup apparatus provided with a first image storage medium capable of storing plural taken images and image display means, and adapted for backup of image information stored in the first image storage medium. The device includes a second image storage medium, a connection detecting unit, a reception unit, a transfer means, a conversion unit, and a second transfer unit. The transfer unit writes predetermined taken image information read from the first image storage medium into the second image storage medium and erases the predetermined taken image information from the first image storage medium according to a detection output of the connection detecting unit and an output of the reception unit. The conversion unit converts the predetermined taken image information into an image matching a display ability of the image display means. The second transfer unit writes the converted image information in the first image storage medium.
Abstract:
A scanner capable of operating independent of an attached computer so that scans of text and images can be instantly stored on media. In one embodiment of the present invention, a zip drive or CD burner receives information directly from the scanner so that information is stored instantly upon scanning without the need to operate a separate computer or deal with separate steps of scanning, sorting, and then recording onto media. While a computer, scanner, and media recording device are generally necessary to scan office documents, for example, the present invention can operate independently of all of them without the hassle of networking and communication interface problems.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus that permits alteration of print data during execution of a print job for the print data stored in an external apparatus. Upon generation of an interruption job during execution of the print job for the print data, an MFP suspends the print job. If free space in a memory is less than the capacity required for execution of the interruption job, the MFP erases the print data in the memory and carries out the interruption job. When the interruption job is completed, the MFP transmits to another MFP a request for transmission of copy data of the print data and restarts the print job for the copy data of the print data transmitted from the other MFP in response to the transmission request.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a memory that has a first storage area for storing a control program and a second storage area for storing image data and operates in a normal mode and a self-refresh mode. The image forming apparatus stores the control program in the first storage area to set the first storage area in the self-refresh mode, when the power saving mode, stores image data which is stored in the second storage area, in the storage medium to set the second storage area in a dormant state, when the storage medium is connected to a main body in the power saving mode, and sets at least a bank of the second storage area in which the image data is stored, in the self-refresh mode and sets the remaining bank in the dormant state, when the storage medium is not connected to the main body in the power saving mode.

Abstract:
The present invention efficiently executes a transfer process from a flash memory to an optical disc. A recording control apparatus includes a UDF file system section that configures a UDF file system on the flash file system of a flash memory and an application format section that converts video and audio data into a file group conforming to the DVD application format and manages it on the UDF file system. When copying the data recorded in the flash memory to a DVD, a management information switching section of the apparatus converts the logical addresses of the flash memory into the logical addresses of the DVD. A DVD buffer control section converts the data recorded in an array of 64 Kbytes that is the recording unit of the flash memory into an array of 32 Kbytes that is the recording unit of the DVD and transfers them to the DVD drive.
