    摘要： A type casting matrix and a matrix spacer or spacing for insertion between adjacent matrices in an assembled line of matrices for spacing the matrices, each having a hard metal coating on the casting edge and casting faces adjacent the casting edge thereof for preventing the adhesion of metal thereto during a hot metal typesetting operation and for preventing damage to the casting edge of the matrices. A plating holder is also provided for simultaneously plating a plurality of matrices and spacings on only the casting edges and casting bearing faces thereof; and the process of plating said matrices and spacings wherein the matrices and spacings are first cleaned to remove lead and other contaminants from the casting edge and casting bearing faces thereof and are then plated with a suitable hard metal alloy such as nickel cobalt alloy or the like.

    摘要： A method and apparatus for image transfer in an electrophotography printing system wherein the removal of solid particulate toner in the form of an image on an image-defining element is accomplished by contacting the toner with a heated transfer roll. The portion of the toner directly contacted by the heated transfer roll softens and interparticle adhesion is increased by the combination of heat and pressure applied by the heated transfer roll. Simultaneously, the portion of the toner directly on the image-defining element becomes relatively less adherent to the surface of the image-defining element to thereby facilitate its transfer from the image-defining element to the heated transfer roll.

    摘要： A method and apparatus for preparing multi-image matrices for printing plates from photoengravings or the like in the blackwhite and multicolor printing industries; featuring use of a thermoplastic mold sheet impressed successively at adjacent areas thereof against a single engraving, to produce a multi-image mold. The apparatus includes mold register guide-forming means functioning automatically to precisely register the mold sheet as it is shifted from one impression operation to another. Also, the apparatus features means for insulating each previously made image impression against resoftening and/or deformation incidental to subsequent processing of the mold sheet in the mold press.
