    摘要: The invention provides a full flow vaporizer for use in a refrigeration system employing hot gas from the compressor to periodically defrost the cooling coil, or coils where multiple coils are employed. The hot gas cooled in the defrosting coil produces liquid refrigerant droplets that may damage the expensive compressor. The vaporizer usually consists of three concentric circular cross-section tubes forming a first inner passage, a concentric second annular passage, and a concentric third annular passage. The inner tube receives the fluid from the coil and has one end blocked. It is provided in its wall with a plurality of fine bores directing the fluid forcefully radially outwards under the action of the high velocity gas component of the fluid against the inner wall of the middle tube, which is heated by the hot gas that is passd through the third annular passage before being fed to the coil to perform the defrost function. The flow capacitites of the passages and the bores are chosen to be in a specific range of flow capacities relative to one another, usually in the range 0.5 to 1.5, preferably in the range 0.9 to 1.2, so that when not in use the vaporizer has no appreciable effect on the remainder of the system. The vaporizer allows refrigerant to pass through it in either direction, and this is particularly advantageous in a heat pump installation.

    摘要: A refrigerating apparatus executing the redistributing operation of refrigerant when the actual suction pressure of a compressor is lower than a suction pressure lower limit value. The suction pressure lower limit value is varied in response to the condensation temperature of refrigerant which varies in accordance with the actual temperature in the vicinity of a condenser. When the condensation temperature of refrigerant is greater than a predetermined comparison value, a first limit value is selected as the suction pressure lower limit value. Otherwise, a second limit value less than the first limit value is selected. The refrigerating apparatus may be controlled in accordance with the selected suction pressure lower limit value.

    摘要: An air conditioner includes a compressor, a four-way valve, an indoor heat exchanger, an expansion valve, an outdoor heat exchanger which are connected via pipings to form a heat pump type refrigerant circuit, the four-way valve being switched over to select a heating or cooling mode of operation. This air conditioner is further provided with a first and second branch pipes which extend from an outlet conduit of the compressor, the first branch pipe forming a first bypass pipe connected to an inlet conduit of the compressor. The first and second branch pipes have first and second valves, respectively. The air conditioner is also provided with a microcomputer for selectively opening and closing the second valve in response to the degree of superheating of discharged gaseous refrigerant after the first valve has been opened so that the discharged gaseous refrigerant is supplied to the outdoor heat exchanger to effect a defrosting operation while a heating operation is continued. When the degree of superheating of discharged gaseous refrigerant is low, a part of discharged gas is supplied to the inlet conduit so as to regulate the degree of superheating.

The degree of opening of the expansion valve is increased to raise the vapor pressure of the refrigerant in the evaporator, instead of stopping the compressor, when the temperature of the refrigerant at the outlet port or within the evaporator drops to the predetermined temperature, so that the frequency of starting and stopping the compressor is reduced.

    摘要: An integrated heat pump and hot water system including a water to refrigerant heat exchanger having a refrigerant evaporating circuit and a refrigerant condensing circuit that are in heat transfer relation with the water circuit. A bi-flow expansion valve with a positive shut off feature is mounted in the refrigerant liquid line connecting the indoor and outdoor coil of the heat pump. The refrigerant evaporator circuit is connected between the inlet of the compressor and the liquid line by an evaporator line that enters the liquid line between the bi-flow expansion valve and the outdoor coil. A solenoid actuated metering valve is placed in the evaporator line to control the flow of refrigerant passing through the evaporator circuit. The condensing circuit of the heat exchanger is connected directly to the discharge line of the compressor so that the refrigerant discharged from the compressor passes through the condensing circuit. By simply cycling the expansion valve and the metering valve a number of operational modes may be selected whether or not the heat pump is conditioning comfort zone air.

    摘要: An elongated cylinder is placed towards the front end of a vehicle such as an automobile at a lower level than the air conditioning unit evaporator drain and connected to the evaporator drain by a hose. This cylinder forms a reservoir, spray units are located at the ends or top of the reservoir and, condensate from the air conditioning unit in the reservoir is forced out of the reservoir into the spray units by internally applied air pressure. Outside air created by the vehicle forward movement is captured by one or more flanged pipes and provides the source for the internally applied air pressure. Condensate spray from the cylinder directed by the vehicle radiator fan flows onto the vehicle condenser core so as to assist in removing heat from the circulating freon sending a much cooler freon back into the vehicle.
