摘要: A switching system between two offices connected by plural digital lines and an outband channel. Each digital line has plural channels, and each channel has a corresponding basic bit rate and is able to multiplex plural sub-rate channels so as to accommodate sub-rate calls. When one of the offices requests the setting of a sub-rate call, a digital interface system designates to the other office, through the outband channel, a sub-rate channel to be used and attribute information concerning the sub-rate channel. If the designated sub-rate channel is not usable by the receiving office, a control unit at the receiving office selects a usable sub-rate channel and informs the originating office that the sub-rate channel is changed to the usable sub-rate channel.

摘要: The setting and phase adjusting apparatus for synchronous multiplex communications is provided which adjusts phase differences of main signals caused between a plurality of synchronous multiplexing sections and a line setting section during line setting, in which to reduce the scale of circuitry of the line setting section in a transmission device for carrying out multiplexing and line setting on large-capacity signals, a plurality of pointer modifiers are arranged on a shelf on which the line setting section is arranged. The pointer modifiers connect the line setting section to the respective synchronous multiplexing sections. The pointer modifiers are supplied with multiplexed signals of respective signal series whose data head positions are shifted from one another. The head positions of these signals are synchronized with a timing signal from a timing generator by the pointer modifiers. Line switching is then effected by time switches and a space switch.

摘要: In a switching system of multiple time slot interchangers associated with outlet ports, each interchanger includes multiple data memories respectively connected to inlet ports and connected to the outlet port with which the interchanger is associated. A set of commands is established for each incoming data signal. The command set includes an inlet port number (IPN), an incoming slot number (ISN), an outlet port number (OPN), and an outgoing slot number (OSN). During a write cycle, one of the inlet ports is selected in accordance with the IPN command and one of the data memories which are associated with the selected inlet port is selected in accordance with the OPN command. The selected data memory is caused to store the data signal of an incoming time slot identified by the stored ISN command into one of its storage locations identified by the stored ISN command. During a subsequent read cycle, one of the outlet ports is selected in accordance with the OPN command and one of the data memories which are associated with the selected outlet port is selected in accordance with the stored IPN command. The selected data memory is caused to read a data signal from one of its storage locations identified by the ISN command onto an outgoing time slot identified by the OSN command.

摘要: Since a transmission route is set in accordance with the number of relaying broad band switching nodes present between two terminating nodes of a plurality of broad band switching nodes, a through-put characteristic, an affecting degree due to occurrence of a defect, the traffic of the entire network is distributed. In addition, when the system is started up, transmission routes with a minimum band width necessary for routing control have been set in all the broad band switching nodes. Whenever a call takes place, a transmission route is set and the band width is variably set by using an intelligent inference mechanism. Moreover, an intelligent distributed control for distributing such an intelligent inference mechanism in the broad band switching nodes is used. Thus, the load of processing a call can be decreased, while the reliability of the network and the improvement of the operating efficiency can be achieved. Furthermore, since the private branch system interface uses a frame which consists of a control window area for controlling its transmission and a cell multiplexing area for multiplexingly transmitting cells, bidirectional transmission between the broad band switching node and a plurality of terminal equipments can be achieved with a single extension transmission line. In addition, since a frame construction which satisfies the ATM method is used, different information transmission speeds can be flexibly selected.

摘要: The present invention is a system and method for transmitting objects of varying types from one processing unit to another using a transporter. The present invention enables the user to create and iconically display each transporter and object icon on a display. At object type definition, the user enters the characteristics of each object type once into a database. Furthermore, at transporter creation, the user enters the transmission command and destination address for each transporter once into a database. As such, the transporter is capable of transmitting numerous objects to a predefined processing unit without continuously prompting the user for object characteristics, mailing protocols, or destination addresses.

摘要: A time division multiplexer (TDM) is provided for multiplexing data from a plurality of channels. The TDM system generally comprises a high speed time division multiplexed digital data bus, a synchronizing bus, a plurality of channel cards coupled between the data channels and the data bus with each channel card having its own processor and memory, and a system communication manager (SCM) which is also coupled to the digital bus, and includes a (micro)processor. The processor of the SCM determines the frame for the system and initially forwards the frame information to each of the channel cards during predetermined time slots of the high speed data bus. The channel cards are synchronized by the SCM via the synchronization bus, and the channel cards use the synchronization information and the framing information in order to appropriately place data on and take data off of the high speed data bus without the use of an address bus. A system overhead frame (SOF) is also preferably multiplexed into timeslots of the high speed data bus. Thus, during operation, the high speed data bus multiplexes not only data from the channel cards, but system overhead information as well as framing information.

摘要: Sub-rate calls of 8.sup.k .times.n bps (where n=1, 2, . . . ) are multiplexed in any combination on a digital transmission path having a basic (unit) bit-rate (64 kbps) as a unit. In order to set a sub-rate call of 8.sup.k .times.n bps in response to a call setting request from a low-speed data terminal, if a circuit switching call of 64 kbps is already set between the switching offices and the multiplex communication can be made at a rate required by the sub-rate call, the multiplex operation is made on 64 kbps circuit switching call to set the sub-rate call between terminals. On the other hand, if the sub-rate call can not be set, a circuit switching call having a new basic bit rate (64 kbps) is set between the switching offices at a time of occurrence of the sub-rate call if necessary to set the sub-rate call between the terminals.

摘要: A multiplex interface for interconnecting the line scanning means (1) of a communication controller to user lines via transmit and receive synchronous multiplex links. Both data and control bits are exchanged in synchronous frames wherein at least two slots are assigned to each user line, the structure of the two slots is identical for all types of user lines and includes an n-bit data slot having a variable number x of valid bits depending upon the line speed of the user line assigned to the data slot and indicated by a variable delimiter pattern comprising a first delimiting bit set at a first binary value (1) adjacent to the data bits and (n--x--1) bits set at the second binary value (0) adjacent to said first delimiting bit, and an n-bit control slot having a first bit used as a global validation bit in case the data slot comprises n valid bits (x.dbd.n), this bit being set at the first binary value (1) when the data slot comprises n valid bits and at the second binary value (0) if it comprises less than n valid bits, and the n--following bits are used for exchanging control information.
