摘要： A steel bolt has weakening grooves at one end to which a head is swaged, the head having two frusto-conical portions at opposite ends. One end has a frusto-conical step for receiving a pair of jaws of a bolt breaking tool. A resilient spacer is attached to the bolt next to the head for limiting the depth of entry of the bolt head into a hasp hole, to provide access clearance for the tool and to permit the bolt to tilt to assist in breaking the bolt. The spacer is received in one hasp hole smaller in diameter than a second hasp hole to limit the depth of insertion of the spacer and the bolt head tapered end portion into the hasp. A seal with a conventional locking mechanism has a frusto-conical end region which partially engages the other hasp hole. The bolt and seal cooperate to lock the seal axially at different positions so the seal is engaged with one hasp hole and the bolt head engaged with the other hasp hole. A tool is disclosed which mates with the bolt head for breaking the bolt at the head when used with J-shaped hasps with limited tool receiving space.

An indicia which indicates the presence of the marker is also applied to the items of the inventory. In some cases, the indicia may be applied to goods to deter theft thereof even though no EAS marker is present on the goods. The indicia may be provided whether the marker is affixed in a concealed or visible location on the goods and may also provide guidance as to how to activate or deactivate the marker.

The marker includes a support sheet and one or more marker elements which are positioned such that the mass distribution of the marker is symmetrically disposed about the center of the marker. This ensures that when the marker is properly positioned on the optically recorded media, the marker does not adversely affect the mechanical balance of the media.

摘要： A serpentine shaped wire clip is disposed in a tapered bore of a housing for axial displacement in the bore and has in a preferred embodiment three U-shaped loops interconnected by end portions. The clip has a bore dimensioned for receiving a cable or rod in radial resilient compressive engagement along the clip entire length which engagement causes the clip to axial displace with the displacement of the cable or rod. The axial displacement of the clip in the tapered bore wedges the clip to the housing and cable or rod locking the elements. The clip may have any number of loops and wire diameter. Also, the housing may have a cylindrical bore and the tapered region may be formed on a rod or bar. The clip may be locked to smooth and grooved surfaces including threads. The housing and rod each have a different one of a cylindrical surface and tapered surface. The clip radially grips the cylindrical surface while wedging in response to relative displacement of the tapered surface to the cylindrical surface. Preferably the tapered surface is the hardest and the cylindrical surface is the softest when the cylindrical surface is smooth.

摘要： A security tag with an affixed label for deterring tampering or unauthorized opening of a closed container, case or other item to be secured has a base unit and an elongate strap secured at one end to the base unit for extending through eyelets on adjacent parts of the item to be secured, such as one part of a container or case and the closure or lid of the container or case. The base unit has a trapper channel for releasably trapping the free end of the strap. An upper wall of the base unit includes a fixed part and a moveable cover which is hinged to the base unit and moveable between an open position and a closed position preventing removal of the strap from the trapper channel. A label is secured across the fixed part of the upper wall and the closed lid, and a signature is applied to the label. The lid cannot be opened to release the strap without simultaneously tearing the label.

摘要： A tag adapted to be attached to an article of clothing or the like with a fastener of the type comprising an elongated plastic member having a cross-bar at one end. In one embodiment, the tag comprises a sheet of material folded and sealed to define a pocket, the pocket being provided with an opening through which a cross-bar may be inserted. Both the pocket and the opening are appropriately sized and shaped so that, when a cross-bar of a fastener is inserted into the pocket through the opening, the cross-bar cannot easily be removed from the pocket without tampering with the pocket in a readily identifiable manner. The tag may be attached to an article of clothing in such a way as to make removal of the tag from the article of clothing and subsequent re-attachment of the tag to the article of clothing difficult to accomplish without providing evidence of tampering by inserting the cross-bar of a fastener comprising an elongated plastic member having a cross-bar at one end and a paddle at the opposite end first through the article of clothing and then into the pocket of the tag through the opening. In a second embodiment, the pocket of the tag is provided with a pair of openings so that the tag may be used with a fastener of the type comprising an elongated V-shaped plastic member having a first cross-bar at one end and a second cross-bar at a second end.
