    摘要: A low cost, high frequency isolation amplifier includes a first voltage-to-frequency converter producing a first pair of complementary pulses in response to an analog input signal and applying them to a pair of low capacitance capacitors constituting the isolation barrier. The isolation barrier differentiates edges of the first pair of pulse signals and applies the resulting signals to inputs of a sense amplifier including a differential amplifier, a pair of comparators, and a flip-flop to precisely reconstruct the first pair of complementary pulse signals, which then are fed into a decoder circuit including a phase locked loop. The phase locked loop includes a phase detector receiving the reconstructed pair of complementary pulse signals and a second pair of complementary pulse signals produced by a second voltage-to-frequency converter. The output of the phase detector is integrated by a filter circuit, the output of which produces a voltage that represents the analog input signal and causes the output of the second voltage-to-frequency converter to be synchronized with the second pair of complementary pulse signals when the analog output signal matches the analog input signal.

The ground plane includes a plurality of selectively positioned slots along the length of the ground plane under the dielectric waveguide in which bodies of high anisotropy uniaxial barium ferrite material are placed and which collectively act as a passive ferrite power limiter when biased by an externally applied biasing magnetic field. A biasing magnetic field is provided by a pair of rare earth permanent magnets located along the sides of the image guide perpendicular to the orientation of the RF magnetic fields of the signal propagating down the dielectric waveguide. This leaves the top surface of the image dielectric guide accessible for other integrated circuit fabrication.

    摘要: Two parallel signal paths carry a composite signal having a narrow-band component such as an FM station's composite signal. The first path includes a notch filter that removes the narrow-band component, such as the FM stereo pilot tone, from the composite signal and also includes a reciprocal clipper coupled to the output of the notch filter that selects peaks beyond given maximum and minimum limits from the remainder of the composite signal. These peaks are then effectively subtracted from the corresponding peaks of the composite signal in the second path and the resultant signal is used to modulate the station's carrier frequency. The resultant signal is an amplitude limited composite signal in which the narrow-band component is substantially unimpaired even though the composite signal has been amplitude limited.
