Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided to identify an endpoint as a general packet radio service tunneling protocol endpoint, and configure a radio access bearer to skip a path management procedure. The apparatus and method also transmit the radio access bearer to a universal generic access network controller to prevent activation of the path management procedure to the general packet radio service tunneling protocol endpoint.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, system, client device, conference server device and computer program product of controlling media composition in a multi-party conversation involving a central control point (50). At a participant (10) of said multi-party conversation, a scope information (SoM) which specifies members of said multi-party conversation is selected and added to a session modifying request. The session modifying request is transmitted to the central control point (50) which initiates a media modification at the specified members in response to the scope information (SoM). Thereby, a client can control whether media modification is applied to the whole conference, selected participants or only between the client itself and the conference server.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling the use of transmission resources, wherein transmission resources for a transmission between a first entity (200) and a second entity (204) can be used by at least a first connection (205) and a second connection (219), comprising checking (208, 211) whether QoS requirements of the first connection (205) can still be guaranteed when the transmission resources are jointly used by the first connection (205) and the second connection (219), and controlling (212) the use of at least one portion of the transmission resources by at least one of the first (205) and second connections (219), accordingly. The connections may for instance be packet-switched (205) and circuit-switched (219) connections in a General Packet Radio System that is capable of Dual Transfer Mode (DTM).

Abstract: A method of encoding video frames to produce encoded video frames. Each encoded video frame is represented by a bit-stream, the bit-stream representative of an encoded video frame including high and low priority information. At least some of the low priority information is decoded from a bit-stream depending on decoding of at least some of the high priority information from the bit-stream. The method includes encoding a first video frame to form a first encoded video frame, the first encoded video frame being represented by a first bit-stream including high and low priority information representative of the first video frame. A first complete reference frame is formed by decoding the high and low priority information from the first bit-stream. A first virtual reference frame is formed using the high priority information decoded from the first bit-stream.

Abstract: A method by which a multimedia presentation editor for use on a (typically handheld) communication or computing terminal (10) interfaces with a user so as to allow the user to create or edit a presentation (20), including: a step (51) in which objects to be displayed successively when a slide (21) is displayed in play mode, are instead assembled by the editor one under another in a column (25a), and objects (22) to be displayed continuously are also assembled in a (one-object-long) column (25b); and a step (52) in which the editor displays each column (25a-b) side-by-side, corresponding to the side-by-side arrangement of respective objects in the different columns (25a-b) when the slide (21) is displayed in play mode, thus allowing some parts of the slide (21) to be fixed, and some parts (23a-c) to change—the parts having columns with more than one object. Corresponding equipment is also provided.

Abstract: A media data format is described along with devices, methods, computer readable media and a propagating signal in relation to the media data format. The media data format comprises a music data portion defining a music track, and a metadata portion defining metadata associated with said music track. Said metadata comprises a tempo metadata type having a tempo class value indicating a tempo class of the music track.

Abstract: Providing a gaming service via an ad hoc peer-to-peer network involves configuring a device to offer a generic peer-to-peer gaming service that facilitates access to a plurality of specific networked games of the device. The device advertises the gaming service using a service discovery protocol of the network. Game play is facilitated via the gaming service. Accessing a gaming service via an ad hoc peer-to-peer network involves coupling a device to the network. The device discovers a generic peer-to-peer gaming service using a service discovery protocol of the network. The generic gaming service is offered by a peer device and facilitates access to a plurality of specific networked games of the peer device. The device selects a networked game from the plurality of specific networked games of the peer device, and play of the networked game occurs at least between the device and a peer device of the network.
