    Abstract: There is provided a method of generating training data for a machine learning model for predicting performance in electronic design using at least one processor, the method including: generating a first set of training data based on a first set of input design parameters and an electronic design automation tool; generating a first covariance information associated with the first set of input design parameters based on the first set of training data; determining a second set of input design parameters based on the first covariance information; and generating a second set of training data based on the second set of input design parameters and the electronic design automation tool. There is also provided a corresponding system for generating training data for a machine learning model for predicting performance in electronic design.

    Abstract: A method for identifying an unknown biological sample (e.g. a glycan, an antibody, a metabolite) is disclosed. The method comprises: receiving more than two sample measurements for the unknown biological sample, calculating a sample point in a two-dimensional plot from the more than two sample measurements for the unknown biological sample and identifying the unknown biological sample by comparing the sample point against the plurality of reference points in the two-dimensional plot. The two-dimensional plot includes a plurality of stored reference points corresponding to respective known biological compounds. Each reference point is calculated from a plurality of reference measurements for more than two attributes of the corresponding known biological compound (e.g. by performing principal component analysis on the plurality of reference measurements), with each attribute being different from another attribute. Each reference measurement may be obtained experimentally (e.g. by liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, tandem mass spectrometry, ion mobility spectrometry) or by a machine learning algorithm.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of inducing mesenchymal-epithelial transition (MET) in a basal-like (or mesenchymal-like) cancer cell by contacting the cancer cell with an inducer of mesenchymal-epithelial transition for a time and under conditions sufficient to induce MET in the cell. Additionally, there is also provided a method of inhibiting epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of a cancer in a subject, the method comprising administering an inhibitor or regulator of lipid metabolism for a sufficient time and under conditions to inhibit epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) of the cancer in the subject.

A portion of the first rod and a portion of the second rod define a vertical offset between the photonic integrated circuit chip and the substrate to align the coupling waveguide with an optical fiber.
