Abstract:
Calls placed to a call recipient bypass the terminating messaging system, creating an enhanced message in the call originator's messaging system and delivering the enhanced message using alternate routing information. A caller creates enhanced messages for a call recipient even when the call recipient's messaging system does not support such functionality. The caller also embeds stored content and/or use links in the enhanced messages to allow the message to be modified and/or deleted before it is accessed by the call recipient.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to perform call screening in a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) network are disclosed. Disclosed example methods include receiving a call screening termination message at a feature server of an Internet protocol multimedia subsystem, initiating a communication session between a first user device operable with the Internet protocol multimedia subsystem and a second user device operable with the Internet protocol multimedia subsystem in response to the call screening termination message, the first and second user devices being involved in a call screening session, and releasing a signaling resource of a messaging server, the signaling resource having been used in the call screening session.
Abstract:
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a method that involves receiving an indication that communications with a subscriber have been interrupted while engaged in voicemail processing, and recording a pointer to a last state of voicemail processing. Additional embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present invention is a method and apparatus for social networking in a dynamic environment. In one embodiment, a method for social networking in a network includes broadcasting a first set of one or more keywords representing one or more interests of a first user in the network, receiving a response from a second user in the network indicating interest in at least one of the interests of the first user, and connecting to a server in the network, where the server hosts a group for supporting communications between at least the first network user and the second network user.
Abstract:
A method and system for automatically managing changes to organizational data in a unified messaging (UM) platform are disclosed. A database snapshot is retrieved from a client human resources database. Added user information associated with a user is detected in the database snapshot, and an existing mailbox associated with the user in the UM platform is detected. Organizational data in the UM platform is automatically modified to combine the added user information and the existing mailbox in the UM platform. When the existing mailbox is detected in the UM platform for the user, it is possible for the UM platform to automatically compose and send a message to at least one user associated with the added user information including potential modifications of the organization data. The organizational data in the UM platform can then be modified in response to receiving approval of the potential modifications of the organizational data from at least one user associated with the added user information.
Abstract:
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, receiving from a first communication device a message and a message request at a messaging server, selecting a second communication device from a group of other communication devices, providing a notification of the message to the second communication device, providing a message to the second communication device when the second communication device transmits an access request to the messaging server in response to the notification, and establishing a communication session between the first and second communication devices using the messaging server when the second communication device transmits a session request to the messaging server in response to receiving the message. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to lithium metal/porous metal oxide compositions. These lithium metal compositions are prepared by mixing liquid lithium metal with a porous metal oxide in an inert atmosphere under exothermic conditions sufficient to absorb the liquid lithium metal into the porous metal oxide pores. The lithium metal/porous metal oxide compositions of the invention are preferably loaded with lithium metal up to about 40% by weight, with about 20% to 40% by weight being the most preferred loading. The invention also relates to lithium reagent-porous metal oxide compositions having RLi absorbed into a porous oxide. The preparation and use of these compositions are also described.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to provide a call-associated content service to voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) devices are disclosed. An example method includes performing a telephone number database query at a call session control function server to obtain a first uniform resource identifier for a destination and to obtain a second uniform resource identifier for the destination, establishing a first communication session to the destination based on the first uniform resource identifier, and initiating a second communication session on behalf of a calling device to the destination based on the second uniform resource identifier, the destination to provide content associated with the first communication session via the second communication session.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to provide a call-associated content service to voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) devices are disclosed. An example method comprises receiving a message comprising a uniform resource identifier (URI) and a call dialog parameter at a content mediator, the call dialog parameter associated with a first communication session between a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) endpoint and a destination, establishing a second communication session from the mediator to the destination based on the URI and the call dialog parameter, receiving content associated with the first communication session via the second communication session, and providing the content to the VoIP endpoint.
