    摘要: Apparatus for retaining an electrical component such as a fuse comprises a walled, hollow body the front of which is split to form a yieldable socket for the accomodation of one end of the component and including a resilient arm extending from the rear wall to form a loop having a portion thereof lying between the front and rear walls in a position to engage the end of the component. The arm terminates in a free end which bears against the rear wall of the body. Retainers constructed according to the invention are adapted to be used in pairs and may be mounted in an insulated carrier block having resilient latch fingers which project into openings formed in the rear wall of each retainer. The retainer bodies may be used either in pairs or in gangs of pairs. When the bodies are ganged, each body is connected to a common conductor incorporating means for connecting it to an electrical circuit.

    摘要: An apparatus for guiding and controlling the path of travel of a continuously moving metallic rod, such as rolled copper rod. A rotating wheel has a peripheral groove for receiving and pulling the rod for maintaining proper tension thereon. A continuously moving chain is operatively mounted on a frame which is pivotally mounted so that the chain can be selectively moved in and out of peripheral engagement with the periphery of the rotating wheel. When the chain is in peripheral engagement with the rotating wheel, the chain positively forces the rod into engagement with the peripheral groove. Thereafter, the chain is moved out of peripheral engagement with the wheel and the moving rod remains in engagement with the groove between an entrance position and a discharge position. Preferably, a device signals when the rod is in engagement with the peripheral groove and moves the frame for the moving chain to a position spaced from the rotating wheel and from the moving rod.

A first conductor electrically contacts the case while a second conductor is electrically insulated from the case. Contact is made from the first conductor to the second by three electrically conductive balls which contact the case and the second conductor. A first spring maintains the electrical contact between the case, the balls and the second conductor. A second spring acts to break the contact between the case, the balls and the second conductor when the fusible pellet melts.

    摘要: The disclosure describes a system for predicting the position of a moving member of an automobile engine, such as the crankshaft. The system includes means for generating reference pulses at discrete positions of the member, such as every 90* of rotation. The system is operated by a clock generator that generates clock pulses at a high rate compared to the rate at which the reference pulses are produced. In response to a reference pulse, the clock pulses are transmitted to a first counter. The first counter successively counts the pulses to its maximum capacity, at which time an output pulse is transmitted to a second counter. When the next reference pulse is received, the number held in the first counter, the correction number, is loaded into a first storage register and the number held in the second counter, the position number, is loaded into a second storage register. The position number is loaded repeatedly into a down counter that is counted down by the clock pulses to produce a series of location pulses which predict the position of the rotating member. In response to each location pulse, the correction number is added to itself and the sum is stored in an accumulator. If the sum produced by an addition is equal to or greater than the capacity of the first counter at which an output pulse is produced, the transmission of the location signal is delayed for one clock pulse, thereby increasing the accuracy with which the location pulse predicts the position of the rotating member.

Current to the starting winding is automatically terminated a predetermined time after the motor commences running. Also, the device automatically de-energizes the electric motor during overload conditions. The current control is accomplished by means of a bimetallic strip together with a heater operating in conjunction with a pair of leaf springs, all of which are mounted for cantilever movement.
