Abstract: A dip treatment system for treating articles, in particular for treating vehicle bodies, includes a dip treatment tank, which can be filled with a treatment liquid, into which articles to be treated can be fully or partially dipped. A conveying system defines a conveying path and includes at least one transport carriage, which can be displaced along the conveying path in a transport direction and includes a fastening device, to which at least one article can be fastened. The conveying system can convey the articles to be treated towards the dip treatment tank, fully or partially into the interior of the dip treatment tank, out of the dip treatment tank and away therefrom. The conveying path of the conveying system is divided into sub-paths, of which at least one first sub-path leads to the dip treatment tank or to an immersion region of the dip treatment tank and of which a second sub-path passes by said dip treatment tank or immersion region of said dip treatment tank. The invention further includes a method for the dip treatment of articles.

Abstract: An inspection station includes a conveyor, a first scanner, a second scanner, a controller, and an interface. The conveyor is configured to continuously transport a vehicle body through the station. The first scanner is configured to detect features of the vehicle body and associated feature coordinates relative to a global coordinate system. The second scanner is configured to detect paint thicknesses on surfaces of the vehicle body and associated paint thickness coordinates relative to the global coordinate system. The controller is programmed to map corresponding pairs of the feature coordinates and paint thickness coordinates into a single set of local coordinates having a datum defined by the vehicle body such that each of the local coordinates defines a location of one of the features relative to the datum and one of the paint thicknesses at the location. The interface is configured to display the features and corresponding paint thicknesses.

Abstract: A driverless transport device for assembling a motor vehicle comprising a drivable base and a vehicle carrier coupled to the base and extending in a longitudinal direction, is configured and developed in terms of a flexible production using simple constructional means, in such a way that the vehicle carrier has actuatable receiving points for carrying the motor vehicle, the vehicle carrier can be moved along its longitudinal direction relative to the base by means of a guide device and can be tilted around an axis oriented orthogonally to the longitudinal direction, such that the at least partially assembled motor vehicle can drive off of the vehicle carrier on its own wheels when receiving points are released from the motor vehicle. The invention also relates to a method for unloading a motor vehicle from a driverless transport device that functions to assemble the motor vehicle.
