Abstract: An Improved garage door opener wherein a motor is coupled to the drive shaft of the door at upper side with gear attached to the drive shaft thereof to operate the garage door and a clutch mechanism is provided to move the gear from engaging location to allow the door to be manually opened or closed. Abstract: A hinge device of an information terminal, wherein the information terminal comprises a main body, a sub-body to be opened away from or closed to the main body while rotating about a hinge axis extending in one direction of the main body, and the hinge device for rotatably coupling the main body to the sub body. The hinge device comprises a driving part generating a driving force for rotating the sub body, and a clutch part for rotating the sub-body by the driving force of the driving part. When the sub-body rotates by external force, the clutch part prevents rotating force of the sub-body from being transmitted to the driving part. Such a hinge device configured as stated above allows the user to automatically open and close the sub-body of the information terminal by virtue of a driving motor provided therein, as well as to manually open and close it. Further, the user can freely adjust an opening angle of the sub-body to various angles, resulting in improvement in convenience of use. Furthermore, a clutch function provided in the hinge device prevents external force from affecting the driving motor.

Abstract: A slim profile covered pinned hinge is provided which comprises a first hinge member, a second hinge member, and a mechanically articulated cover. The first and second hinge members are pivotally connected by a pin. The first and second hinge members may each further comprise a leaf for attachment to a hinged object, a door or door jamb for example, and at least one knuckle through which the pin maybe received. The cover may be elongated and has an internal cavity, thereby allowing the cover to be slipped over the hinge concealing the knuckles and joints therebetween of the hinge members. The cover has two ends and may be mechanically coupled to the pin at one or both ends. In one embodiment, at least one end of the pin may have at least two gears comprising a gear segment. The ends of the cover may have at least one gear rack to engage the gears on the end of the pin. Angularly opening and closing the first and second hinge members moves the cover with respect to the pin, providing additional clearance to allow for the leaves of the hinge members to swing as the hinge is operated.

Abstract: A hinge assembly for mounting to a vehicle body a rear deck movable closure panel, wherein as the panel is opened its forward edge is shifted rearward away from adjacent body structure. The hinge assembly includes a forward sector gear fixed to a panel-half hinge member and an aft sector gear pivoted to a body-half hinge member wherein the sector gears are disposed between a pair of angled link members. The body-half hinge member includes inboard and outboard opposed wall surfaces having upper and lower pairs of aligned horizontal guide slots. The aft sector gear and pair of links are supported between the wall surfaces with the aft sector gear meshed with the forward sector gear and a subjacent gear rack. The links tie a forward sector gear pivot pin to an intermediate pivot pin slidably received in the upper pair of guide slots and an aft pivot pin slidably received in the lower pair of guide slots. As the panel and forward sector gear rotate counter-clockwise to the panel open position, the aft sector gear rotates clockwise while conjointly traveling rearward on the gear rack together with the forward pivot pin, about which the panel is rotating. Thus, as the panel moves from its closed position to its full open position, the panel forward edge clears the vehicle body.

Abstract: A door operator for a slide door that is slidingly supported relative to a door opening in a side panel of a vehicle body is disclosed. The door is supported adjacent its forward end on at least one forward guide member and is supported adjacent its rear end on a rear guide member. The guide members guide the door through (i) an initial closing movement generally parallel to the side panel, (ii) a final closing movement generally parallel to the side panel, (iii) at least a portion of its final closing movement generally toward the plane of the door opening, and (iv) at least a portion of its initial opening movement generally away from the plane of the door opening. The door operator comprises means including a first cable member coupled to the rear end of the door and a second cable member coupled to the forward end of the door for driving the door along the guide members to thereby move the door through its initial and final opening and closing movements. When used as part of a system, the powered sliding door operating system also includes a clamping means including a rotatable striker plate mounted on the vehicle body and having an eccentrically mounted striker pin thereon engagable by a latch bolt member on the door for clamping the door to the vehicle body with the door in a finally closed position in the door opening.
