    摘要: An apparatus and method for controlling recording and reproduction in a video cassette tape recorder are disclosed apparatus is capable of, in a recording mode, separating specific data for speed-varied reproduction from compressed digital video signals, recording them on designated tracks, recording position information of the designated tracks on a control track by an index head or recording position information of recording position-synchronized blocks at the starting portions of the designated tracks recorded with the specific data, and in a speed-varied reproduction mode, controlling a capstan servo speed so as to maintain the travel of a magnetic tape at a normal speed and periodically or non-periodically accelerate or decelerate it where specific data for varied-speed have been recorded periodically or non-periodically on predetermined portions of tracks, thereby making heads travel repeatedly at the normal speed and the high speed and thereby detect continuously the specific tracks for varied-speed. A repeatability of reproduced video at a varied speed is obtained without any deterioration in picture quality, because of recording of the specific data for speed-varied reproduction and the continuous detection of the specific data in the speed-varied reproduction. Apparatus and method for controlling recording and/or reproduction of digital signals to and/or from a digital storage medium, are discussed. According to an embodiment, the method includes receiving digital data, the digital data including video data compressed as at least one of intra-frame and predictive frame, stuffing data, synchronous signals, and relative position information associated with an I-frame; detecting the synchronous signals for decoding the video data; obtaining the video data from the digital data by removing the stuffing data based on stuffing code information; determining a position associated with the I-frame by using the relative position information; determining whether a speed-varied reproduction mode is selected for reproduction of the video data in a varied speed; and reproducing the video data based on the determined position associated with the I-frame, the synchronous signals, and a result of the step of determining whether the speed-varied reproduction mode is selected.

According to an embodiment, there is provided a method for processing a digital signal stored on a digital storage medium, comprising receiving digital data processed to prevent at least one of buffer underflow and buffer overflow and stuffed by stuffing data capable of being detected and removed, the digital data including video data in a first data format converted from video data in a second data format; determining whether a speed-varied reproduction mode is selected for reproduction of the video data in the first data format in a varied speed, the video data in the first data format compressed as at least one of I-frame and P-frame; and reproducing the video data in the first data format in a varied speed based on speed information when the speed-varied reproduction mode is selected, the speed-varied reproduction mode being associated with the speed information, wherein the video data in the first data format is reproduced in the varied speed by processing the video data in the second data format.

The reel brake device comprises a tension band mounted on an outer circumference of a reel disc to control tension, the reel disc which is rotatably mounted on the main chassis to drive a tape reel of a tape cassette, and a brake unit fixed on the main chassis to help the tension band be in contact with the outer circumference of the reel disc. This can replace a conventional brake unit having a complicated structure, and therefore, the number of component parts can be reduced.

    摘要: The travelling speed of a magnetic tape is controlled without considering a detection error caused by the slackening of a magnetic tape or the like. A microcomputer 10, immediately after starting a fast-feeding operation, starts a running rotation of feeding and winding reels 44, 45 (step S205), calculates an N value based on reel pulses and sets an acceleration target (step S210, S215) and simultaneously reads the N value immediately before the previous stop of the rotation from RAM and compares the read N value with the current N value (step S225, S230), prohibits the acceleration of the feeding and winding reels 44, 45 after confirming that the error does not fall within 25% (step S235) whereby when the videotape is rotated to the leader or the trailer, the videotape is prevented from being applied with an excessive load so that damages on the videotape can be reduced.

    摘要: A system for measuring a length of tape available for a record operation has both a tape supply reel which rotates as a tape leaves the supply reel during a tape transfer process, and a tape take-up reel which receives tape from the supply reel, and the tape take-up reel also rotates as it receives the tape during the tape transfer process. There are provided an encoder responsive to movement of the tape, a first angular position transducer to measure an angular position of the tape supply reel, a second angular position transducer to measure an angular position of the tape take-up reel, and a third transducer responsive to the encoder. A Kalman filter, responsive to an angular position measurement by the first angular position transducer, the second angular position transducer, and also the third angular position transducer, calculates the length of tape available for a record operation. The Kalman filter also calculates the radius of the tape pack on the supply reel, and the radius of the tape pack on the take-up reel.

When a rotation number of the drive motor is reduced under a predetermined rotation number due to the occurrence of the winding load during the load flag being ON, the output voltage applied to the drive motor is sifted from a high voltage to a low voltage and the drive motor is continuously driven to rewind the tape.

    摘要: A reel-to-reel tape system stops movement of the tape during a power loss situation without overrun by one of the tape reels and without causing undue stress upon the tape itself. If rotational momentum of the supply reel is sensed to be disproportionately larger than the momentum of the take-up reel, supply motor back emf for dynamically braking the supply reel is applied while also driving the take-up reel in the direction of rotation in which it operated when the power source was discontinued. An appropriate amount of tension is maintained on the tape until the tape motion has come to a complete stop. A capacitor large enough to supply the power needed to provide current to the power bridge of the motor drivers is provided. The capacitor is charged upon power up of the drive and is not tapped unless and until the normal supply voltage of the motor drivers is turned off. The take-up reel motor is provided with optimum current to take up the loose tape that otherwise would be produced in the tape path and around the reels, thus preventing a hazardous situation.
