Abstract:
A motor-speed reducer set comprising a C-flange worm gear speed reducer, an adapter connected to the speed reducer and having a drive shaft for driving the input shaft of the speed reducer, and an electric motor for driving the drive shaft of the adapter.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for treatment of plantar fasciitis. The apparatus includes an insole for wear within a shoe, or footwear, of a patient afflicted with plantar fasciitis. The insole has an opening, or void, defined in a top surface of the insole such that the opening is positioned below a locus of the plantar fasciitis injury. The opening is positioned so that the insole does not impart a contact pressure about the point of injury. The method includes opening a space in the top surface area of an insole under the Plantar Fascia ligament tear to immediately relieve the pressure from the insole that causes Plantar Fascistic pain.
Abstract:
A patient interface for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a nasal prong assembly including a pair of nasal prongs structured to sealingly communicate with nasal passages of a patient's nose in use and headgear to maintain the nasal prong assembly in a desired position on the patient's face. The headgear includes side straps and rigidizers provided to respective side straps. Each rigidizer includes a first end portion that provides a connector structured to engage a respective end of the nasal prong assembly and an inwardly curved protrusion in the form of a cheek support that curves inwardly of the connector. The cheek support is adapted to follow the contour of the patient's cheek and guide a respective end portion of the side strap into engagement with the patient's cheek to provide a stable cheek support.
Abstract:
A horn loudspeaker with gain shading. The horn loudspeaker includes an acoustic horn. The acoustic horn includes side walls, for determining the horizontal dispersion angle of the acoustic horn, top and bottom walls, for determining the vertical dispersion angle of the acoustic horn, and a plurality of acoustic drivers coupled to the acoustic horn by a diffraction slot having segments. Each of the segments is separated from the adjacent segments by less than one half of the wavelength of the highest frequency of the operational range of the horn loudspeaker. The horn loudspeaker further includes circuitry for transmitting an audio signal to the plurality of acoustic drivers, the circuitry comprising a first signal attenuation element electrically coupling an audio signal input element and a first of the acoustic drivers.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods for producing ophthalmic lens molds and molded ophthalmic lenses are described. The present devices, systems, and methods provide venting of gases produced during injection molding of ophthalmic lens molds. With the present devices, systems, and methods, improvements in mold quality, lens quality, mold quality consistency, and lens quality consistency can be achieved compared to existing injection molding devices, systems, and methods. An optic power insert bushing is described and includes a venting system that directs gas from a first end of the bushing toward a second end of the bushing. The gas is directed between an optic power insert and an inner sidewall surface of a bushing bore in which the optic power insert is located. The bushing or bushings, and optic power inserts, can be provided as components of an ophthalmic lens mold injection system. Methods of making and using the vented bushings are also described.
Abstract:
Certain examples provide methods, systems and apparatus to facilitate heuristic content resolution to resolve ambiguity or conflict among available context variants for a content-based clinical application. An example method includes identifying a selected content item, the content item associated with a context input, the content item representing a parameterization of instructions to instruct a content-based application how to operate, the content item formulated according to one or more detailed clinical models. The example method includes identifying available context variants for the content item. The example method includes rejecting context variants conflicting with the context input of the content item. The example method includes rejecting context variants more specific than the context input of the content item. The example method includes selecting a most specific remaining context variant for the content item based on the context input.
Abstract:
A collision avoidance system for a machine is disclosed. The collision avoidance system has a first obstacle detection system. The first obstacle detection system is configured to detect a first obstacle and generate a corresponding first signal. Additionally, the collision avoidance system has an operator interface. The operator interface has a display configured to communicate visual information to an operator. In addition, the collision avoidance system has an interface module configured to detect a status of the machine and generate a corresponding second signal. The collision avoidance system also has a controller. The controller is in communication with the first obstacle detection system, the operator interface, and the interface module. The controller is configured to control the display to indicate a dangerous obstacle detection to the operator, based on the first and second signals. Additionally, the controller is configured to control the display to provide a dangerous obstacle warning to the operator, based on the first and second signals.
Abstract:
Some embodiments comprise a mechanical thickness regulator for a compression mold, or related systems and/or methods. A regulator can include a thickness regulator pin received by a recess in an extendable and retractable relation. The regulator pin can include a tip, or can be contacted with a tip, defining a predetermined distance from the pin to the end of the tip, the distance defining a gap of well known dimensions for receiving and molding polymer melt.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the in vivo stimulation of cellular material. In particular, the present invention relates to a method for stimulating cells and tissue in vivo comprising the step of applying to said cells and tissue an electrobiomimetic stimulus, wherein the growth characteristics of said cells and tissue are enhanced as compared to cells and tissue not receiving said stimulus.
