    摘要: A low cost method and system for efficiently implementing channel estimation in a wireless communication system using any desired length of a fast Fourier transform (FFT) independent of burst type or signal structure. The hardware complexity required to perform the channel estimation to process a plurality of different burst types is reduced. Simple tail zero-padding is used when the length of FFT is extended to a desired length for more efficient computation.

    摘要: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is configure to receive and sample wireless signals in a shared spectrum where the wireless signal comprise encoded symbols. The WTRU has a channel estimation device configured to process received signal samples to produce an estimate of a channel response of the received signals corresponding to a matrix H. The channel estimation device is preferably configured to process the received signal samples to produce an estimate of noise variance of the received signals. The WTRU preferably has a two stage data estimator that includes a channel equalizer and a despreader. The channel equalizer is configured to process received signal samples using the estimated channel response matrix H and the estimate of noise variance to produce a spread signal estimate of the received signals. The despreader is configured to process the spread signal estimate of the received signals produced by said channel equalizer to recover encoded symbols of the received signals.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for reducing the processing rate when performing chip-level equalization (CLE) in a code division multiple access (CDMA) receiver which includes an equalizer filter. Signals received by at least one antenna of the receiver are sampled at M times the chip rate. Each sample stream is split into M sample data streams at the chip rate. Multipath combining is preferably performed on each split sample data stream. The sample data streams are then combined into one combined sample data stream at the chip rate. The equalizer filter performs equalization on the combined sample stream at the chip rate. Filter coefficients are adjusted by adding a correction term to the filter coefficients utilized by the equalizer filter for a previous iteration.
