Abstract: Mechanisms may be used for multi-channel (MC) setup and access and waveform designs for millimeter wave (mmW) systems. An access point (AP) that is part of a basic service set (BSS) may provide multi-channel (MC) access to one or more stations (STAs) in the BSS. The AP may monitor for beacon frames transmitted by other access point/personal basic service set (PBSS) control point (AP/PCP) associated with overlapping basic service sets (OBSSs). The monitored beacon frames may include service period (SP) scheduling information for the OBSS. The AP may generate an allocations at least one SPs and/or contention based access periods (CBAPs) channels to be used in a beacon interval in consideration of the SP scheduling information for the OBSS. The AP may transmit a beacon frame STA(s) indicating the SP/CBAP allocations. Other mechanisms may include simultaneous transmission of multiple single carrier (SC) waveforms with non-overlapping waveforms to multiple STAs.

Abstract: Multiple channel transmission in mmW Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) systems may be provided. Multi-channel aggregation and channel bonding may include, for example, multi-channel aggregation for a single transmitter/receiver pair or multi-channel aggregation and bonding for multiple transmitter/receiver pairs with frequency and space based multiple access. Multi-channel beamforming may include, for example, one analog beam across two channels and analog circuits on each channel or a single analog circuit on both channels, one analog beam across two channels and separate digital precoding schemes on each channel, one analog beam across a primary channel and separate digital precoding schemes on each channel or two analog beams on two channels and separate digital precoding on each channel. Preamble signaling may be provided.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for protection of multi-user (MU) transmission are described herein. An apparatus includes a receiver, a transmitter and a processor. The receiver and the processor detect a trigger frame for an uplink (UL) multi-user (MU) transmission. The processor and the transmitter generate and send a frame in response to the trigger frame and transmit channel availability information for a plurality of channels in response to the trigger frame. The receiver and the processor detect data in a resource unit (RU) of a downlink (DL) MU physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU) on one of the plurality of channels. The one of the plurality of channels is based on the transmitted channel availability information.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for multiple resource unit (RU) allocation for OFDMA WLAN. A transmitter may parse an encoded bit stream into a plurality of spatial streams. The transmitter may determine an allocation of encoded bits of the plurality of spatial streams to a plurality of interleavers. The transmitter may allocate the encoded bits to the plurality of interleavers based on the determined allocation. The allocation of the encoded bits may be determined based on one or more of channel related feedback, an RU configuration associated with the transmission, a quality of service (QoS), and/or traffic priorities. The transmitter may interleave the encoded bits using the plurality of interleavers. The transmitter may combine the interleaved encoded bits from the plurality of interleavers into a sequenced bit stream.
