    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may transmit control information using a narrowband common control region that occupies a portion of a system bandwidth. In some cases, data may be multiplexed during the same time period in tones that are not used by the common control region. The base station may transmit control region configuration information to one or more user equipment (UE) devices such as the bandwidth, central frequency, and multiplexing status of the common control region. In some cases, the common control region may be divided into subbands, and different UEs may be assigned to monitor different subbands. Unassigned UEs may monitor a default anchor subband.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a scheduling entity in communication with a set of scheduled entities within a wireless communication network. The scheduling entity groups a plurality of tones into uplink clusters, where each uplink cluster includes one or more adjacent tones. In addition, the scheduling entity maps a first set of uplink clusters to a first virtual cluster group (VCG) for an uplink control channel, assigns the first VCG to a first scheduled entity of the set of one or more scheduled entities, provides a first VCG index identifying the first VCG to the first scheduled entity and receives uplink control information from the first scheduled entity on the first VCG over the uplink control channel.

    Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be configured to receive a plurality of combined signals. Each combined signal may be on a tone of a plurality of tones. The apparatus may be configured to determine a first pilot signal on a first tone of the plurality of tones. The apparatus may be configured to generate an interference-reduced signal for the first tone by canceling the determined first pilot signal from a first combined signal on the first tone.
