    Abstract: Provided are a video decoding method including determining at least one first block for partitioning a current frame which is one of at least one frame included in a video, determining a first prediction mode indicating an intra-prediction method to be performed on a current first block which is one of the at least one first block based on first intra-prediction mode information obtained from a bitstream when intra-prediction is performed on the current first block, determining a plurality of second blocks included in the current first block, determining second prediction modes indicating intra-prediction methods to be performed on the plurality of second blocks based on at least one of the first prediction mode and second intra-prediction mode information obtained from the bitstream with respect to each of the plurality of second blocks, and decoding the video by performing intra-prediction based on the first prediction mode and the second prediction mode; and a video decoding apparatus capable of performing the video decoding method. Provided are also a video encoding method performed in a way opposite or similar to the video decoding method; and a video encoding apparatus capable of performing the video encoding method.

    Abstract: Provided is an interlayer video decoding method according to an embodiment including obtaining prediction-mode information of a current block of a depth image from a bitstream, generating a prediction block of the current block on the basis of the prediction-mode information, and decoding the depth image by using the prediction block. The obtaining of the prediction-mode information of the current block from the bitstream includes receiving a first flag, a second flag, and a third flag, wherein the first flag indicates whether prediction of the current block by dividing the current block into two or more partitions according to a pattern is permitted, the second flag indicates whether the depth image permits blocks of the depth image to be predicted by dividing the blocks into two or more partitions by using a wedgelet, and the third flag indicates whether the depth image permits the blocks of the depth image to be predicted by dividing the blocks into two or more partitions by using a contour; and receiving a fourth flag from the bitstream when predetermined conditions determined on the basis of the first to third flags are satisfied, wherein the fourth flag represents information regarding a type of a method of dividing the current block into two or more partitions according to the pattern.

    Abstract: An inter-layer video decoding method includes searching for a neighboring block candidate which neighbors a current block and has a motion vector in an inter-layer direction, from among spatial and temporal neighboring block candidates; when the neighboring block candidate having the motion vector in the inter-layer direction is found, setting the motion vector in the inter-layer direction of the found neighboring block candidate as a disparity vector of the current block; when the neighboring block candidate having the motion vector in the inter-layer direction is not found, searching for a neighboring block candidate having disparity vector information from among the spatial and temporal neighboring block candidates; and when the neighboring block candidate having the disparity vector information is found, predicting a disparity vector of the current block based on the disparity vector information of the found candidate.
