摘要： A flue securing apparatus providing a planar metal plate having a flue hole therein and a tab of the metal plate extensive within the flue hole. The tab having a locating hole positioned at a juncture of the tab and one edge of the flue hole. A sheet metal strap is coplanar with the plate and joined thereto by mutual sheet metal attachments. Grooves positioned at the edged of the plate define comers of a roof hole so that a flue is positionable according to code. A step-by-step method is taught of using the plate as a template for cutting the roof hole and for securing a venting flue in place within the plate.

The orifice adjustment mechanism includes a moveable plate upstream of the fixed orifice plate having an opening communicating with the opening in the fixed orifice plate and an adjustment mechanism moving the orifice adjustment plate from a retracted position, wherein the opening through the fixed orifice plate is substantially unobstructed, to an extended position which restricts the opening through the fixed orifice plate, thereby adjusting the pressure drop.

摘要： A stove suitable for large-burner cooking with a high heat flame has an enclosed stove casing with an upper cooking surface, a hollow interior, and a burner well recessed into the interior of the casing. A large burner is positioned in the burner well, and a cooking vessel can be placed over the well so as to close the burner flame off from the outside. The burner well has an annular rim which can support a wok or other rounded-bottom cooking vessel. The high heat exhaust from the burner is trapped in the well and entrained by natural convection into a duct member to a duct casing at a rear side of the stove which has baffles forming a labyrinthine channel for mixing cold air with the hot exhaust air from the large burner. The stove includes a catch basin member positionable in the interior of the burner well for catching any spillage or debris. The stove casing has a window formed in its front panel for allowing the stove user to visually check the burner flame. Further features include a recessed burner plate positionable in the well over the burner for allowing cooking with other types of cooking vessels, and a grill positionable over the annular rim of the stove and a deflector unit below for open-flame cooking when the wok is not used.

摘要： There is provided a non-flammable pass-through unit for installation in new construction or as a substitute for a removed section of existing flammable wall in a building for the purpose of allowing the safe installation of a heating appliance, such as a wood or coal stove, and which will reduce the required clearances from a heating appliance to the wall in registry with a flue opening in an existing chimney located behind the wall. The unit comprises a frame composed of non-flammable vertical and horizontal galvanized sheet metal mambers. The metal frame defines an opening which, when the frame is installed, is centered on the axis of the chimney flue opening. A heat resistant, non-flammable tunnel is fitted into the opening and is butted against the chimney. A non-flammable sheathing covers the face of the metal frame, the sheathing defining an opening centered on the common axis for receiving a thimble and a stove pipe and adapted, when installed, to have its surface flush and merging with the surface of the flammable wall.

摘要： The invention concerns a stove comprising a burner, a combustion chamber, transport and exit ducts for the combustion gases, and at least one heating unit, such as a hearth plate or an oven. According to the invention, the stove comprises warm air duct with inlet and outlet and a blower, arranged to circulate air into said warm air duct to be heated by the heating unit and out from said duct. The stove may consist for instance of a lid lowerable over the hearth plate so that the warm air duct becomes confined between the lid and the hearth plate. When the stove comprises an oven, the warm air duct may conduct the air to be heated on the other hand into the oven and on the other hand into the intermediate space confined between the outer surface of the transport duct for the combustion gases.

摘要： The combustion gases of a burner in a heating furnace are discharged to a vent through a draft hood having three ports. The first and second ports communicate with the furnace and the vent respectively and define a first flow path for combustion gases through the chamber of the hood. The third port is open to the ambient atmosphere and defines a second flow path for dilution air through the chamber. Separate temperature responsive, bimetallic elements sense the temperatures in the two paths and cause a vent damper to be moved toward and away from a position in which it closes the second port in response to the sensed temperatures to minimize the flow of dilution air. In a modified embodiment the draft hood is vertically elongate with the bimetallic elements positioned in a zone filling with hot products of combustion for minimizing the flow of dilution air and minimizing spillage of products of combustion during start-up and sudden changes in draft.

摘要： Combustion gas flowing alongside a surface of an open burner, such as over the upright catalytic bed of a space heater or a generally horizontal surface such as the top plate of a space heater, is segregated by an aperture in the path of flow of the combustion gas, so that the gas flows through such aperture instead of being dissipated into a room space and mixed with the ambient air of the space. The effluent combustion gas thus sequestered is withdrawn by suction through a discharge duct. The opening through such aperture or discharge duct can be regulated by a shutter or damper, which can be adjusted by a thermostat responsive to the temperature of gas flowing through the segregating aperture or discharge duct, to enlarge the duct opening as the temperature rises and to restrict the opening as the temperature decreases.
