Abstract:
The present specification proposes a method of displaying a terminal involved in public disaster safety communication in a single base station that has a constraint on a normal backhaul connection. Even when the backhaul connection is disconnected, it is possible for a terminal to communicate by using an X2 connection between base stations, but there is a limitation in that it is difficult for a terminal to find the position of another terminal because a connection between the base station and an evolved packet core (EPC) is disconnected. Thus, there is a need for a method to solve this limitation. Whether there is a backhaul connection between a first base station and the EPC is detected, and when a backhaul connection is not detected, a first ID is allocated to a terminal in the service area of the first base station and the first ID allocated is transmitted to a second base station. When there is a backhaul connection between the first base station and the EPC, a globally unique temporary identifier (GUTI) of the terminal in the service area of the first base station is received from a mobility management entity (MME). Then, whether there is a backhaul connection between the first base station and the EPC is detected, and when a backhaul connection is not detected, the GUTI of the terminal in the service area of the first base station is transmitted to the second base station.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting information on user equipments (UEs) in a wireless communication system is provided. A first eNodeB (eNB) transmits information on a first type of UEs and information on a second type of UEs to a second eNB. The first type of UEs is UEs located around a cell border between a first cell, controlled by the first eNB, and a second cell, controlled by the second eNB. The second type of UEs is UEs located at the other part of coverage of the first cell and the second cell.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for performing trace recording in a wireless communication system is provided. It is assumed that an evolved NodeB (eNB) is shared by a first operator and a second operator. The UE receives an indication, which allows collecting minimization of drive tests (MDT) logs of a user equipment (UE) of the second operator, from a mobility management entity (MME) of the second operator. Upon collecting the MDT logs, the UE transmits a trace record based on the collected MDT logs to a trace collection entity (TCE) of the first operator.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for performing a partial handover procedure in a wireless communication system is provided. An eNodeB (eNB) of a 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) long term evolution (LTE) system determines E-UTRAN radio access bearers (E-RABs) to be offloaded to an access point (AP) of a wireless local area network (WLAN) system, and transmits an E-RAB release indication message, which includes a list of the E-RABs to be offloaded to the AP and a corresponding cause which is set to “Offload to WLAN”, to a mobility management entity (MME) of the 3GPP LTE system.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for establishing/modifying/releasing data radio bearers (DRBs) in a wireless communication system is provided. A master eNodeB (MeNB) in dual connectivity transmits a request message, which includes information on E-UTRAN radio access bearers (E-RABs) to be set up/modified/released, to a secondary eNB (SeNB) in dual connectivity through an X2 interface;\, and receives a response message, which includes radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration related information based on the E-RABs to be set up/modified/released, as a response to the request message from the SeNB through the X2 interface.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for switching off a cell for energy saving in a wireless communication system is provided. A first eNodeB (eNB) transmits information on quality of services (QoS) of user equipments (UEs), connected to the first eNB, to a macro eNB, and receives a list of recommended cells for handover of all or a part of the UEs. Then the first eNB performs handover of all or the part of the UEs with a second eNB which manages a cell included in the list of recommended cells, and switches off a cell managed by the first eNB.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting split availability of a cell in a wireless communication system is provided. A first eNodeB (eNB) may transmit a split availability of a first cell, managed by the first eNB, to neighbor eNBs. The split availability of the first cell may indicate whether the first cell supports cell split operation or not. Alternatively, the split availability of the first cell may indicate whether the first eNB supports an active antenna system (AAS).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for indicating a handover in a wireless communication system is provided. A mobile relay node (RN) receives an indication which indicates that there is no eNB supporting relay within neighbor cells from a donor eNodeB (cNB) serving the mobile relay node, and transmits a handover command message to user equipments (UEs).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for avoiding a short stay problem in a wireless communication system is provided. An eNodeB (eNB) may determine a ratio of a number of short stay user equipments (UEs), which stay at a cell shorter than specific threshold time, to total number of UEs staying at the cell, and transmit the ratio of the number of short stay UEs to the total number of UEs to a previous eNB. Or, the eNB may receive measurement information of at least one second cell from a UE, determine whether the UE can be connected to the at least one second cell, and notify a second eNB whether the UE can be connected to the at least one second cell or not.
