Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may encapsulate, into a link layer sidelink management message, upper layer signaling for managing a direct communication connection with a second UE. The first UE may transmit, to the second UE, the link layer sidelink management message including the upper layer signaling. The second UE may selectively transmit, to the first UE, a link layer sidelink response message based at least in part on a content of the upper layer signaling in the link layer sidelink management message. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling slice information for a roaming user equipment (UE). In some cases, the UE may send, to a network entity, a request with an information element (IE) indicating one or more protocol data unit (PDU) sessions to be transferred from a source network to a target network. After receiving, from the network entity, a response with an IE identifying one or more of the PDU sessions allowed to be transferred to the target network and indicating slice information applicable in the target network for the one or more PDU sessions allowed to be transferred, the UE may update slice information for each of the PDU sessions allowed to be transferred based on the IE in the response.

A multi-phase distributed ranging technique includes transmitting and receiving vehicle information messages during a first time interval, where the vehicle information messages include at least a vehicle identifier and resource information. The multi-phase technique further includes transmitting and receiving ranging signals during a second time interval, and determining times of arrival of received ranging signals. A centralized ranging technique includes receiving resource assignments from an access point, transmitting ranging signals according to the resource assignments, and determining times of arrival of received ranging signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An initiator user equipment (UE) may broadcast, via a sidelink connection to a set of target UEs, a group sidelink communication request that includes a sidelink ranging service identifier. The group sidelink communication request may further include a broadcast identifier or a groupcast identifier. The initiator UE may establish, via the sidelink connection, a set of unicast sidelink sessions with the set of target UEs. some examples, the initiator UE may transmit, via the sidelink connection, a set of position reference signal requests via the set of unicast sidelink sessions to initiate a set of sidelink ranging sessions. The initiator UE may then receive, via the sidelink connection, a set of position reference signal responses from the set of target UEs during each of the plurality of sidelink ranging sessions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish connectivity to a local area network using cellular radio access technology (RAT). The UE may establish a signaling radio link with a cellular access node (AN) via a cellular RAT. The UE may transmit a connectivity request to a network node via the signaling radio link. The connectivity request may specify a connectivity type for establishing connectivity to a LAN. Based at least in part on an acceptance of the connectivity request, the UE may establish a data radio link with the cellular AN. In an example, the acceptance of the connectivity request may include at least one parameter for configuring the connectivity to the LAN. The UE may then establish a data flow for exchanging data link layer packets with the LAN via the data radio link.

The apparatus sends assistance information to at least one of the one or more UEs in an area, the assistance information identifying at least one mobile relay of the one or more mobile relays based on the determined distance between the one or more UEs and the at least one mobile relay.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication that over come problems associated with conventional approaches including load balancing and handover efficiency issues. For example, in one aspect a wireless communication technique takes into account the load of a relay before a UE is switched from one relay to another. In another example, a wireless communication technique ensures that UEs are handed over to relays that will be able to serve the UE as the mobile relay continues to follow its expected path (such as streets or tracks), which may be known or determined.
