    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may encapsulate, into a link layer sidelink management message, upper layer signaling for managing a direct communication connection with a second UE. The first UE may transmit, to the second UE, the link layer sidelink management message including the upper layer signaling. The second UE may selectively transmit, to the first UE, a link layer sidelink response message based at least in part on a content of the upper layer signaling in the link layer sidelink management message. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling slice information for a roaming user equipment (UE). In some cases, the UE may send, to a network entity, a request with an information element (IE) indicating one or more protocol data unit (PDU) sessions to be transferred from a source network to a target network. After receiving, from the network entity, a response with an IE identifying one or more of the PDU sessions allowed to be transferred to the target network and indicating slice information applicable in the target network for the one or more PDU sessions allowed to be transferred, the UE may update slice information for each of the PDU sessions allowed to be transferred based on the IE in the response.

A first user equipment (UE) may establish a sidelink connection with a second UE, where the sidelink connection is associated with a plurality of flows. The first UE may determine, based on monitoring each flow of the plurality of flows, a radio link status of the sidelink connection. The first UE may transmit, based on the determining, a non-access stratum layer message to the second UE based at least on the radio link status of the sidelink connection.

An initiator user equipment (UE) may broadcast, via a sidelink connection to a set of target UEs, a group sidelink communication request that includes a sidelink ranging service identifier. The group sidelink communication request may further include a broadcast identifier or a groupcast identifier. The initiator UE may establish, via the sidelink connection, a set of unicast sidelink sessions with the set of target UEs. some examples, the initiator UE may transmit, via the sidelink connection, a set of position reference signal requests via the set of unicast sidelink sessions to initiate a set of sidelink ranging sessions. The initiator UE may then receive, via the sidelink connection, a set of position reference signal responses from the set of target UEs during each of the plurality of sidelink ranging sessions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may receive positioning information for a first user equipment (UE), the first UE supporting sidelink communications via a sidelink interface with one or more roadside units. The base station may identify that a second UE is associated with the first UE, the association between the first UE and the second UE satisfying a threshold and the second UE supporting sidelink-assisted positioning. The base station may provide, to a network entity, a message indicating the positioning information for the first UE and identifying the first UE and the second UE.
