    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments herein provide higher priority PLMN selection method during disaster situation in a wireless network (1000) by MS (100). In an embodiment, when MS (100) is registered for the disaster roaming service, the method includes selecting a higher priority PLMN in a priority order when the higher priority PLMN is available in the network and other non-forbidden PLMN when the higher priority PLMN is unavailable in the network, and registering the MS to receive the service in the network on one of the selected higher priority PLMN, and the selected other non-forbidden PLMN. In another embodiment, when the MS is not registered for the disaster roaming service, the method includes selecting a higher priority PLMN in a priority order when the higher priority PLMN is available in network, and registering the MS on the selected higher priority PLMN to receive the service in network.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method for handling communication in a wireless network by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving a non-access stratum (NAS) message indicating that the UE is not permitted to access a first public land mobile network (PLMN) over a satellite communication along with geographical indication or a timer indication from the first PLMN. Further, the method includes determining a geographical area based on the received geographical indication or a timer value based on the timer indication. Further, the method includes starting a timer with the timer value. Further, the method includes determining that the UE is not allowed to access the first PLMN in the determined geographical area or the expiry of the timer. Further, the method includes performing a PLMN selection and registration procedure on a second PLMN based on the determination.

The disclosure relates to network slicing and more particularly, to a system and method of ensuring that a communication system is able to accurately enforce quota on the maximum number of UEs concurrently registering for a network slice defined by a Single Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (S-NSSAI). The disclosure describes how the limits of “Number of Terminals” configured for an S-NSSAI may be accurately maintained in a Network Slice Admission Control Function (NSACF), and thus the enforcement may be performed when the limit is really exhausted. The disclosure also describes that a deregistration notification from a Unified Data Management (UDM) may act as a trigger for an old Mobility Management Function (AMF) to decrement counts in the NSACF as the old AMF is no longer serving the UE.
