A communication technique that combines a 5G communication system for supporting a data rate that is higher than that of a beyond 4G system with IoT technology, and a system thereof are provided. The technique may be applied to intelligent services on the basis of 5G communication technology and IoT related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail, etc. A method of performing access deregistration by a user equipment (UE) and an apparatus therefor are provided. The method includes, when the UE is registered on both 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) access and non-3GPP access, transmitting, to an access and mobility management function (AMF), a deregistration request message to deregister the non-3GPP access over the 3GPP access, and receiving, from the AMF, a deregistration accept message corresponding to the deregistration request message over the 3GPP access.

A communication technology for converging a 5th-generation (5G) communication system for supporting a higher data rate after a 4th-generation (4G) system to an Internet of things (IoT) technology and a system thereof are provided. A method for connecting to a network by a terminal in a mobile communication system wherein a first communication network and a second communication network are operable, and an apparatus thereof are provided. The method includes transmitting, to a mobility management function, information on supportable communication network for the terminal and an attach request message including a packet data unit (PDU) session request, receiving an internet protocol (IP) address allocated based on the information on supportable communication network and an attach accept message including a PDU session response, and connecting to a network based on the IP address.

The present disclosure relates to a communication scheme and system for converging a 5th generation (5G) communication system for supporting a data rate higher than that of a 4th generation (4G) system with an internet of things (IoT) technology. The present disclosure is applicable to intelligent services (e.g., smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars, connected cars, health care, digital education, retails, and security and safety-related services) based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology. Disclosed is a method of adding a type of network-related analysis information provided by a network data analytics function (NWDAF), including: receiving, by the NWDAF, an analytic information addition request requesting addition of new network-related analytic information, and transmitting, from the NWDAF, a response message including information about whether the new network-related analytic information has been added, in response to the analytic information addition request, wherein the network-related analytic information is obtained by analyzing information collected from at least one entity in a network and the analytic information addition request includes information about a definition of the new network-related analytic information.

The present disclosure relates to a communication technique of fusing a 5G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G system with an IoT technology and a system thereof, and provides an intelligent service (for example, smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, security and safety related service, or the like) based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT related technology. A method for appropriately finding a network node providing services that user equipment (UE) wants in a 5G mobile communication system when a user initially accesses a G network includes a method for managing network deployment information and a method for transmitting an initial access request message with a detailed proposal technology. In addition, even when the service provided to the user equipment is modified after the initial access, a network node providing the corresponding service may be found in a similar manner.

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transmitting data to user equipment through not only a current base station cell but also a neighboring base station cell via inter-eNB CA in a wireless communication system. A method for transmitting data though carrier aggregation in the wireless communication system, according to the present invention, comprises the steps of: a first base station transreceiving data with a terminal through at least two PDN connections; the first base station transmitting a carrier aggregation request message to a second base station for aggregating carriers, when the first base station determines to carry out inter-eNB carrier aggregation; the first base station receiving a carrier aggregation reply message from the second base station in response to the carrier aggregation request message; the first base station performing an RRC reconfiguration process with the terminal to notify to the terminal of the determination to perform the inter-eNB carrier aggregation; and the first base station transmitting a path change request message to a mobile management entity to correct a data transreceiving path, so that data on at least one PDN connection from among the PDN connections is transreceived through the second base station.

Provided is a method and apparatus for device-to-device (D2D) communication, and, particularly, a method and apparatus for device-to-device (D2D) communication for discovering an adjacent UE through a network in a wireless cellular communication system. Provided are a method for performing device-to-device communication by a UE, and an apparatus therefor, the method including: transmitting a discovery request for discovering an adjacent UE to a server; scanning a discovery channel during a scanning time according to the discovery request; and performing the device-to-device communication with a discovered adjacent UE when the adjacent UE is discovered as a result of the scanning, wherein the discovery request is used for the server to transmit an announcement request to the adjacent UE corresponding to the discovery request, and the announcement indication information includes information which allows the adjacent UE to broadcast a discovery signal through the discovery channel during the scanning time.

A method of establishing a bearer in a packet switched mobile wireless communications network comprising a mobile device and a network node, and a corresponding network. A predetermined maximum number of bearers can be established for the mobile device within the network. Bearer information can be sent indicating the predetermined maximum number of bearers, a remaining number of bearers, or that no more bearers can be established. If no more bearers can be established and a further bearer is required a bearer previously established for the mobile device within the network can be released and if required a bearer synchronization procedure can be performed. A further bearer for the mobile device within the network can then be established. Alternatively, if the mobile device determines that an emergency PDN connection is required, it can send a request for a further bearer to the network node. If a current number of bearers established for the mobile device is equal to the maximum number of bearers, the network node can release a previously established bearer establish a bearer for an emergency PDN connection.
