摘要: A phase change type optical recording medium comprises a dielectric layer 1a, a dielectric layer 1b, a phase change type recording layer and a second dielectric layer in the described order. The recording layer satisfies Ac/Aa.gtoreq.0.8 where Ac is an absorption coefficient of the recording layer in a crystalline region and Aa is an absorption coefficient of the recording layer in an amorphous region. The dielectric layer 1a comprises ZnS--SiO.sub.2 as main components and the dielectric layer 1b comprises a metal nitride or ZnS--SiO.sub.2 having an SiO.sub.2 content of 40 to 80 mol % as main components. At least an area of the second dielectric layer that is in contact with the recording layer comprises a metal nitride, a rare earth oxide, silicon oxide or ZnS--SiO.sub.2 having an SiO.sub.2 content of at least 40 mol% as main components. However, an optical recording medium comprising a dielectric layer 1a having an SiO.sub.2 content of 2 mol % to less than 40 mol % and a second dielectric layer having an SiO.sub.2 content of 40 to 80 mol % is precluded from the invention.

摘要: A liquid crystal display has a pair of substrates with liquid crystal sealed between them. A polymer layer regulates directions in which the liquid crystal molecules tilt. A plurality of gate bus lines and a plurality of drain bus lines are provided on one of the substrates. Color filters and a pixel electrode are provided on the substrate. The pixel electrode includes a first sub-pixel electrode and a second sub-pixel electrode. A common electrode is provided on the other substrate. A first and a second thin film transistor are connected to the first sub-pixel electrode. The first thin film transistors is connected to a first gate bus line, and the second thin film transistor is connected to a second bus line.

摘要: The present invention is to realize a proper inner zone layout in a quadruple-layer disk.A test area is provided in the inner zone (inner circumference side area) in each of recording layers. If two test areas closer to the outer circumference, of four test areas, are defined as a first pair and two test areas closer to the inner circumference are defined as a second pair, the test areas of the first pair and the test areas of the second pair are so disposed as to be prevented from overlapping with each other in the layer direction. Two test areas of the first pair have the same consumption direction of the test area, and are so disposed that the areas to be used next hardly overlap with each other in the layer direction. Two test areas of the second pair have the same consumption direction of the test area opposite to the consumption direction of the test area in the first pair, and are so disposed that the areas to be used next hardly overlap with each other in the layer direction.

摘要: A liquid crystal display has a pair of substrates with liquid crystal sealed between them. A polymer layer regulates directions in which the liquid crystal molecules tilt. 摘要: A liquid crystal display device comprising a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules provided between a first substrate and a second substrate; pixels forming a display area; electrodes for applying a voltage across the liquid crystal layer within each of the pixels; a plurality of domain regulating structures for dividing orientations of the liquid crystal molecules and forming multiple domains within each of the pixels, when a predetermined voltage is applied across the liquid crystal layer within each of the pixels; and a structure which is formed in an outer area located next to the display area and is substantially the same as at least one of the plurality of domain regulating structures.
