    Abstract: A multipart filter case for holding at least one cartridge-shaped filter element, particularly for the sterile filtration of fluids, has a bell-shaped case with a top part into which the filter inlet side protrudes. The filter outlet side is held downstream in an intermediate plate and ends in a filtrate space below the intermediate plate. The filtrate space is defined in part by a dish-shaped base plate parallel to the intermediate plate, and has a filtrate outlet therein. The inlet for the medium to be filtered extends through the base plate and intermediate plate into the top part of the case, and comprises a tubular part integral with the intermediate plate and which detachably penetrates the base plate.

    Abstract: A liquid precoat filter has a multitude of elongated replaceable filter elements that have one of their ends supported on tubes that project upwardly from a tube sheet. The individual filter elements are releasably connected to the tubes by couplings that permit a spring clip to lock under shoulders when the filter element is pushed down; the spring clip is released when the filter element is rotated about one-quarter of a turn. A sliding seal prevents leakage between the filter elements and their support tubes.

    Abstract: An improved apparatus for removing cylindrical filter cartridges from a tank. The upper ends of the filter cartridges receive spring actuated toggle type means. The toggle means are collapsible upon the exertion of a downward vertical force and spring back to their generally horizontal or extended position upon removal of the vertical force. A lift plate, having openings therethrough, is positioned above the cartridges with an opening in vertical alignment with each cartridge. The diameter of the openings is such as to permit the toggle means to pass therethrough when in their collapsed position and to prevent the toggle means from passing therethrough when in their extended position.

    Abstract: A unitary uniformly porous filter structure constructed entirely of shaped sintered powdered metal having increased filtering capacity and useful for filtering molten thermoplastic resin, e.g., as it is forced through a spinnerette head. The filter has a planar base portion having hollow protuberances extending from one major surface thereof with cavities of the protuberances extending to the opposite major surface, providing a drainage path. The filter structure is one piece of metal, i.e., the protuberances and the base have continuity and identity of composition.
