Abstract:
A method for telephony includes receiving at a facility of a telephone service provider a first subscriber request to place a first call to a specified telephone number. A provider request is sent to a remote server (26), which maintains a database (28) of records associating telephone numbers with respective packet network addresses, for a record (72) indicating a packet network address to which calls to the specified telephone number should be placed. Upon receiving the record from the remote server, the record is stored in a local cache (42) at the facility of the telephone service provider. After storing the record, upon receiving at the facility of the telephone service provider a second subscriber request to place a second call to the specified telephone number, the record is read from the local cache and is used in placing the second call to the packet network address.
Abstract:
A system comprising an abbreviated digit constructor, an abbreviated digit analyzer and a calling line identification data store. The abbreviated digit constructor is communicatively coupled to the calling line identification data store and abbreviated digit analyzer, the abbreviated digit analyzer sends a set of abbreviated dialed digits to the abbreviated digit constructor and the abbreviated digit constructor constructs a set of unabbreviated dialed digits from the set of abbreviated dialed digits and a calling line identification retrieved from the calling line identification data store.
Abstract:
This invention relates generally to software, and more specifically, to systems and methods for providing a phone name service. In one embodiment, the invention includes a software application, the software application configured to perform the steps comprising receiving a phone name; receiving a phone number; and storing the phone number in association with the phone name, wherein the software application is associated with a computer readable media. In one particular embodiment, the phone name is alphanumerical. In a further particular embodiment, the alphanumerical phone name is an email address. In a further embodiment, the software application is further configured to perform the steps comprising receiving a request for the phone number using the phone name; retrieving the phone number associated with the phone name; and communicating the phone number. In one particular embodiment, the request for the phone number using the phone name is received from a phone company and the phone number is communicated to the phone company for establishing a call using the phone number. In a further particular embodiment, the request for the phone number using the phone name is received from a calling device and the phone number is communicated to the calling device for establishing a call through a phone company using the phone number. In a further particular embodiment, the software application is further configured to perform the steps comprising receiving a phone name; receiving a location, the location comprising a latitudinal coordinate and a longitudinal coordinate; and storing the location in association with the phone name. In a further particular embodiment, the software application is further configured to perform the steps comprising receiving a request for the phone number using the phone name; receiving a location, the location comprising a latitudinal coordinate and a longitudinal coordinate; retrieving the phone number associated with the phone name and location; and communicating the phone number. In a further particular embodiment, the location comprises receiving the location from a calling device. In a further particular embodiment, the receiving the location from a calling device comprises receiving the location from a GPS program on the calling device.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for processing responses in a prompting system. Responses are monitored to a menu of prompts in the prompting system. A response to a prompt is tagged with a location identifier. The location identifier identifies subject matter that corresponds to the prompt. The location identifier is stored in a database. If the menu of prompts changes, then the location identifier permits navigation to the same subject matter, even though the prompt is reassigned to new subject matter.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for providing a ring back to a calling party's communications device. A first call is placed to a called number. An identification sequence is received during the first call. When the first call ends, a second call is placed to a server. The identification sequence is sent to the server during the second call, and the ring back associated with the identification sequence is received. The ring back is stored in memory of the calling party's communications device and retrieved when subsequent calls are made to the called number. The ring back is then presented on the calling party's communications device to indicate the called number is ringing.
Abstract:
A system for analyzing natural language spoken through a voice recognition system comprising: a language separator for separating a natural language expression into multiple word segments; and a grammar module for creating XML-based description sets or binary sets using word segments as input. In a preferred embodiment, the word segments are further processed as class objects and then organized according to original spoken order and wherein content fields are created to contain the class objects for comparison during voice interaction using the voice recognition system.
Abstract:
A system and method for preventing unwanted communications. A communication is received from a sending party. Input indicating the communication is to be filtered is received. Filtering information is extracted from the communication. The filtering information is distributed to multiple telecommunications platforms. The communication and future communications are blocked across the multiple telecommunications platforms utilizing the filtering information.
Abstract:
A method for the personalized enhancement of a mobile device data comprises acquiring from the World Wide Web, through a mobile device, information relevant to said mobile device's data and displaying said updated information at the time and in a manner compatible with the user's pattern of use of the mobile device and to the user's relevant personal preference.
Abstract:
A system may provide trust relationship information for a telephone number, where the trust relationship information may indicate whether one or more nodes consider a target node as including or as being associated with a VoIP call agent for the telephone number based on demonstrated knowledge of a PSTN call. The system may determine a target trust relationship to the target node based on the trust relationship information, where the target trust relationship indicates a level of trust a validating node has in the target node being associated with or including the VoIP call agent for the telephone number, and where validating node and the one or more nodes may be in different respective administrative domains of a network.
Abstract:
A system for generating usage statistics for a communications routing system from data generated at routing points and at end points of the system has a processor having access to the communications routing system for analyzing the data and generating the statistics, and a server having access to the processor for rendering the generated statistics into a format for display. The data used to generate the statistics includes routing path information for events routed through the communications routing system and optionally interaction histories recorded at certain routing points and end points in the communications routing system.
