摘要: A change amount per unit time of an engine output command for controlling engine output of an internal combustion engine is calculated as an engine output increasing rate, and a power supply device is controlled so that power corresponding to the calculated engine output increasing rate is supplied to a combustion promoter generation device. The combustion promoter generation device generates a combustion promoter through the power supplied from the power supply device to supply the combustion promoter to a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine, and a generation amount of the combustion promoter increases as the supplied power increases. In this manner, the generation amount of the combustion promoter is adjusted.

摘要: A method for controlling an emergency unit of an internal combustion engine including the following steps: inputting a threshold value for an overspeed of the engine; detecting a second rotational speed of the engine with a second rotational speed sensor; checking the plausibility of the second rotational speed. The plausibility checking includes the following steps: inputting a first rotational speed detected by a first rotational speed sensor of an engine control unit; calculating a difference between the second rotational speed and the first rotational speed; comparing the difference with a recorded threshold value for the difference; in the event that the difference is smaller than the threshold value for the difference, emitting a plausibility signal. After receipt of the plausibility signal, the method includes inputting the second rotational speed; and using the second rotational speed for an activation process of the emergency unit according to the overspeed.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for determining a dilution of recirculated gases, including blowthrough air, combusted exhaust gas, and fuel vapor, in a split exhaust engine. In one example, the dilution rate may be calculated using a feedforward model that includes determining a pressure differential across a region in an intake passage, mapped engine parameters such as gas temperature, and exhaust valve timing. Engine operations such as spark advance and fuel injection may be adjusted according to the modeled rate to reduce engine knock and improve combustion efficiency.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for operating a split exhaust engine system that provides blowthrough air and exhaust gas recirculation to an intake passage via a first exhaust manifold and exhaust gas to an exhaust passage via a second exhaust manifold. In one example, the engine system may be installed in a hybrid vehicle, and, in response to a request to restart the engine while the vehicle is being propelled via motor torque only, the engine may be rotated unfueled via the motor torque at less than cranking speed while at least partially opening a valve disposed in a passage coupled between the first exhaust manifold and the intake passage. In another example, in response to the request to restart the engine, all exhaust valves of a second set of exhaust valves coupled to the second exhaust manifold may be deactivated.

In one example, a method may include learning common vehicle routes and identifying routes in which fuel vapor storage canister preheating is indicated, such as routes that will enable fuel vapors to be purged to an engine intake shortly after the vehicle start. Then, in anticipation of an identified route for fuel vapor storage canister preheating, a vehicle controller may be transitioned from a sleep mode to an awake mode prior to the vehicle start in order to commence a fuel vapor storage canister preheating routine.

摘要: A post injection is utilized in a more effective manner. In an internal combustion engine which is provided with a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into a cylinder of the internal combustion engine, in cases where a post injection is carried out after a main injection of fuel from the fuel injection valve, when a rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is equal to or more than a first predetermined speed, a penetration force of fuel in the post injection is made larger than a penetration force of fuel in the main injection, whereas when the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is less than a second predetermined speed which is equal to or less than the first predetermined speed, the penetration force of fuel in the post injection is made smaller than the penetration force of fuel in the main injection.

摘要: A vehicle traveling control method includes detecting a remaining fuel amount in a fuel tank including a fuel chamber in which a suction port of a fuel pump is disposed for sucking fuel to be supplied to an engine, the fuel tank being configured to generate negative pressure for sucking fuel to the fuel chamber by ejecting a part of fuel sucked by the fuel pump into the fuel chamber via a fuel line, permitting, when a predetermined condition is satisfied, inertial traveling during which a vehicle travels, with the engine kept stopped, operating, when the detected remaining fuel amount is less than a first threshold, the fuel pump despite the engine stopped owing to the inertial traveling, and prohibiting stop of the engine when the detected remaining fuel amount is less than a second threshold smaller than the first threshold.
