摘要: A method for detecting surface impurities on a surface of a component by X-ray fluorescence analysis uses a hand spectroscope for application to the surface of a component. The hand spectroscope comprises an X-ray source, a fluorescent radiation detector, an analyzer and a display. The method comprises irradiating the surface of the component with X-rays using the X-ray source; detecting fluorescent radiation, which is emitted by the surface of the component as a result of the irradiation with the X-rays, using the fluorescent radiation detector; measuring a radiation spectrum of the detected fluorescent radiation; generating an evaluation result by analyzing the measured radiation spectrum using the analyzer, the evaluation result comprising a quantitative measure of the surface impurity of the surface due to predetermined characteristic substances; and outputting the generated evaluation result on the display.

摘要: An elliptical system is disclosed having a crank assembly configured to be adjusted in length to accommodate users having varying gaits. In some embodiments, the crank assembly includes a crank and an axle connection bracket that is slidably adjustable with respect to the crank. For example, the crank assembly can include a crank link having a longitudinal body, where the longitudinal body is connected to the crank at one end and includes a longitudinal slot slidably coupled with the axle connection bracket. The axle connection bracket is configured to slide through a plurality of positions along the longitudinal body. In some embodiments, the crank assembly further includes a screw for adjusting the axle connection bracket with respect to the crank, where the screw can cause the axle connection bracket to slide through one or more positions of the plurality of positions when the screw is turned.

摘要: An air delivery lock for a cargo located in an aircraft includes a housing, a restraining device having an engagement end for contacting and restraining the cargo, and a force reaction end, a bell crank having a bell crank joint for swivably mounting the bell crank, an elastically deformable force introduction unit, and a latching unit. The restraining device is swivably mounted on a leg of the bell crank around a restraining device axis. The force introduction unit is attached to a second leg of the bell crank and the force reaction end of the restraining device. A first guide attached to the housing and a second guide attached to the restraining device prevent rotation of the bell crank until a predetermined release force is reached on the engagement end of the restraining device.

The light emitter component can include a silver (Ag) portion at least partially disposed over a surface of the component. The component can further include a protective layer at least partially disposed over the Ag portion, the protective layer at least partially including an organic barrier material that increases or improves chemical resistance of the Ag portion. In some aspects, the protective layer includes a polyxylylene (e.g., poly(p-xylylene), a substituted poly(p-xylylene), a fluorocarbon containing poly(p-xylylene), and/or any other polymer prepared from a xylylene and/or comprising —CH2—(C6H4)—CH2— based repeating units. In some aspects, the protective layer includes Parylene.

Exemplary components include a light directing optic and/or a diffusing optic for mixing light. The light directing optic may be disposed at least partially around a perimeter of the light emitter surface. The diffusing optic may be disposed between portions of the light directing optic and spaced apart from the light emitter surface.

According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for data analysis and inference of particle diffusion in target materials, such as mucus barriers, or their simulants. The method includes collecting experimental data of observed particle movement through samples of a target material or simulant (“the target”), analyzing the collected data to determine the stochastic diffusive process that is being observed for particular particles in the particular sample, using one or more of the observed stochastic diffusive processes to simulate the diffusion of particles through layers of the target of various thicknesses, using the simulation results to determine how passage time scales according to thickness of the target, and verifying the simulation results.
