Abstract: An approach is provided in which a storage system detects that an extent residing on a first one of a set of physical storage devices requires relocation. The storage system identifies a set of backend connection properties of each of a set of backend connections between the storage system and the set of physical storage devices. The set of backend connection properties includes at least a connection bandwidth between the storage system and at least one of the physical storage devices. In turn, the storage system relocates the extent from the first physical storage device to a second one of the set of physical storage devices based at least in part, on the set of backend connection properties.

Abstract: An approach is provided in which an information handling system matches a set of documents, from a corpus of documents, to a query received from a client. The information handling system determines an amount of facets corresponding to the matching set of documents by dynamically dividing the corpus of documents into multiple sub-corpuses and performing complement facet counting on at least one of the sub-corpuses. In turn, the information handling system sends a set of results to the client that includes the determined amount of facets corresponding to the matching set of documents.

Abstract: An approach is provided in which a knowledge manager identifies document command statements in a document that correspond to requests included in the document. In turn, the knowledge manager generates a suspicious document notification corresponding to the document when the suspicion score reaches a suspicion threshold.

Abstract: An approach is provided that improves a question answering (QA) computer system by ingesting a set of documents into a corpus of a first QA system. A multiple choice test is generated from the set of documents. The multiple choice test includes any number of questions, with each of the questions having a correct answer and one or more candidate, or wrong answers. The questions and answers are retrieved from the set of documents. The approach identifies concepts that correspond to each of the questions. The candidate answers corresponding to each of the questions are generated based on the identified concepts that pertaining to the respective questions. In this manner, the candidate answers are designed to be misleading in light of the respective questions. A subject, such as a second QA system, is tested using the generated multiple choice test.

Abstract: An approach is provided to expand attributes included in an SQL expansion clause into a number of selection statements. In the approach, an expansion clause is identified in within a Structured Query Language (SQL) statement with the SQL statement identifying a relational database table. Column attributes associated with the identified relational database table are compared to attributes included in the identified expansion clause. Columns included in the relational database table are then selected based on the comparison. SQL column selection statements are then generated with each of the generated SQL column selection statements corresponding to one of the selected columns. The generated SQL column selection statements are then included in the SQL statement.

Abstract: An approach is provided to sort objects on a surface of vertically-adjustable low friction transfer modules that are controlled by processors. A request to sort the plurality of objects in a horizontal direction is received with each of the objects is assigned a sort position. Sets of the vertically-adjustable low friction transfer modules are selected. The vertically-adjustable low friction transfer modules are arranged in a grid formation on the surface, with each of the sets of selected transfer modules being underneath a different object. The sets of selected transfer modules are vertically adjusted causing each of the objects to move independently from the other objects while avoiding the other objects in two or more dimensions formed on the surface. The result of the movement is that each of the objects is moved to a position respective of the other objects according to each object's respective sort position.
