    摘要: An apparatus for milking animals which includes one or more milking compartments where the animal is milked, and a milking robot for automatically connecting and disconnecting teat cups to animals being milked in said milking compartments. The milking robot includes a carrier for each teat cup and has a piston and cylinder member that is interconnected to the teat cup by a cord, the cord being played out from the carrier when a teat cup to which it is connected is connected to the animal's teat. The teat cup is pulled back onto a site therefor on the carrier by the piston and cylinder member when the teat cup is disconnected from the animal's teat. A sensor is provided for sensing when a teat cup is not properly pulled back and properly seated at its site therefor. The sensor can be a micro-switch at the site or a micro-switch which is actuated by the piston of the piston and cylinder member when it is fully extended, or it can be mounted on the teat cup and actuated when the teat cup is not at the proper angular disposition which it would have if properly received at its site on the carrier. When a teat cup is not so properly sited after being disconnected or dislodged from an animal's teat, this circumstance indicates a malfunction of which the sensor, via a computer, causes an operator to be notified.

An emergency electrical battery is provided at an individual parlor containing the implement for providing electrical power in the event of failure of the main power, a computer being provided for closing down non-vital functions in the event of such power failure or of malfunctioning of the parts or parts concerned. The set of teat cups which are automatically installed and removed from the farm animal being milked can also be individually installed manually on the animal's teats, and a second set of teat cups for similar manual installation and removal is also provided, including conduits for pulsating the teat cups connected to a vacuum source, and for conveying milk received in the teat cups to a receptacle.

    摘要: A tractor has a hydraulically driven PTO shaft disposed at one side and generally centrally so that it can be connected to an input shaft of an implement extending laterally from the tractor's rear lifting device. The tractor's engine is between its wheels and its drive shaft is transverse to the tractor's longitudinal centerline. The width of the engine is less than the width from outboard side to outboard side of the tractor's front wheels. The fuel tank is offset on one side of the tractor opposite the aforesaid PTO. The front wheels of the tractor are situated within the tracks of the rear wheels so that the tracks do not overlap and are about equal distances apart. All wheels are driven by individual hydraulic motors. Hydraulic motors also drive the aforesaid PTO shaft and two further PTO shafts which extend to the tractor's rear, one centered with respect to the tractor's three-point lifting device and the other to one side thereof. An alarm alerts the operator if the power required for the tractor's propulsion is a disproportionate share of that available whereby there is insufficient power for the aforesaid or other PTO shafts and any implements connected thereto. The hydraulic fluid which drives the wheels can be delivered to the front or rear wheels either in series to ensure both wheels are powered or in parallel.

    摘要: A soil cultivating implement comprises a hollow portion which rotatably supports a row of substantially vertical shafts, each shaft carrying a corresponding soil working member at its lower end. Each soil working member comprises a tine holder having two laterally extending limbs which are both curved rearwardly with respect to the intended direction of operative rotation thereof and define shallow U-shaped channels, the outer end of each limb being integrally provided with a corresponding tine carrying sleeve in which is snuggly and slidably received a relatively rigid tine composed of spring-type steel. The tines are formed from rod material of uniform square cross section and each of them has, at a radially innermost corner, a notch which can be brought into register with any one of four spaced bores in the carrying sleeve, a retaining member, a pin tube, on the like being entered through a selected bore and the corresponding notch to retain the tine in the desired position of downward projection from the sleeve. With the tines becoming shorter due to wear, their original effective lengths can be restored by displacing them downwardly in the sleeves. This permits the maximum working depth of the implement to be attained without having to replace the tines when they become initially worn. Alternative embodiments are described in which the tines constitute strip-shaped bars of elongated rectangular cross section, each of which has a plurality of notches or holes for cooperation with a single bore and a retaining pin, tube or the like.

    摘要: A soil cultivating machine comprises two transverse rows of fixed tines and three transversely extending rollers. The front roller has discs which cut parallel slits in the soil. The two following rollers have transversely extending releasable blades mounted on angle-irons which form shallow V's pointed in the direction of the rollers' rotation and which are twisted about 90.degree. from their outboard ends to their centers. The rollers are drivingly interconnected by a chain transmission so that the middle roller rotates slower than the other two and the rear roller rotates faster than it would if freely rotating on the ground. The tines are in rows between the rollers and their depth of soil penetration relative to the underlying soil is adjustable. The rollers are mounted on a generally horizontal framework which is adjustable, however, so it can be inclined slightly either forward or aft to increase or decrease the penetration of the front roller's discs.

Each projection has a relatively sharp rear edge with respect to the roller's usual direction of rotation and, inward from the sharp edge, a relatively blunt leading edge relative to such direction so that it first penetrates into the soil relatively easily and then resists forward progress through the soil thus tending in a positive sense to produce rotation around the roller's axis of rotation. The projections are formed from pairs of shaped plates and each plate includes a sleeve surrounding the central tubular carrier of the roller. Scrapers cooperate with the convex surfaces of these sleeves between the projections.

A cabin and controls for an operator are disposed in the rear unit and a coupling member for receiving agricultural implements extends to the rear of the rear unit. The forward unit has large heavy fuel tanks extending across its width which, even when empty, cause the center of gravity of the forward unit to be to the rear of the axle of the forward unit. The widths and lengths of the two units and the distance between the axles of the two units are all dimensionally about the same. The frame of the forward unit forward of the axle and the drive shafts of both engines are inclined upwardly in a forward direction at about 10.degree. relative to the horizontal. Each axle in the first embodiment has six wheels and the further embodiment four wheels. The disposition of the engines and the fuel tanks being such that an operator in the cabin on the rear unit has a relatively clear view to the front and rear of the front wheels, to the front and rear of the rear wheels and of the coupling device for agricultural implements and any implements coupled thereto at the rear of the tractor.
