Abstract: A method performed by a user equipment (UE) connected to a first home cell of a home public land mobile network (HPLMN). The method includes determining a type of the first home cell, when the type is a first type, determining a first quality of the connection to the first home cell, in response to the first quality not satisfying a first predetermined threshold or a determination that the type is a second type, disconnecting from the HPLMN, connecting to a first visited cell of a visited public land mobile network (VPLMN), determining a second quality of the connection to the first visited cell and when the second quality of the connection to the first visited cell is above a second predetermined threshold, performing a data exchange via the first visited cell.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for user equipment (UE) devices to perform more efficient frequency scans for potential base stations. According to techniques described herein, the UE may determine that it does not have cellular service and determine first information based on a last camped cell. A time period during which the first information was acquired may be determined and one or more frequency scans may be performed. The frequency scans may be limited to a set of frequencies based in part on the time period. Thus, if the time period is less than a first value, the set of frequencies may include a first set of frequencies and if the time period is greater than the first value but less than a second value, the set of frequencies may include the first set of frequencies and a second set of frequencies.

According to some embodiments, the accessory device may receive cellular communication system selection information from a paired device. The accessory device may store the communication system selection information. At some point, it may be determined that the accessory device has lost cellular communication service. The accessory device may perform a cellular communication service scan utilizing the system selection information received from the paired device along with its own historical information and location based frequency lists.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to cellular service recovery techniques using cell-specific cellular service history information for an accessory device. According to some embodiments, cellular service history information relating to cellular service loss occasions for each of one or more cells from which the accessory device has previously lost cellular service may be stored. It may be determined that cellular service loss is currently occurring from a cell for which cellular service history information relating to cellular service loss occasions is stored. Cellular service recovery may be attempted using the cellular service history information relating to cellular service loss occasions for the cell from which the current cellular service loss is occurring.
