摘要： There is a multi-color copying apparatus having image processing functions which can easily designate arbitrary areas when the trimming or masking is executed. This apparatus comprises: an area designating device to designate the first area of the original; a first developing device to develop the image of the first area in the first color; a second developing device to develop the image of the second area in the second color; and a control circuit for making the first developing device operative without making the second developing device operative in accordance with the designation of the first area and, after completion of the development of the image of the first area, making the second developing device operative without making the first developing device operative. The control circuit inhibits the operation of the first or second developing device by moving the first or second developing device to a position away from the photo sensitive drum, or by applying the bias voltage to the first or second developing device such that the toner from the inoperative developing device is not deposited onto the drum.

摘要： In a multiple computer system in which a plurality of computer stations are connected for mutual data transfer via a common data bus, at least one computer station is provided with a fail safe facility which prevents disruption of the entire system due to malfunction of the computer station. The computer is preprogrammed to perform an input/output circuit diagnosis routine after power-up and before control program execution which causes the input/output circuit to output a coded pulse train signal. An abnormality detection circuit receives the coded pulse signal, converts it to a parallel-bit word, and compares the derived word to a stored, predetermined word. If the words match, the detection circuit causes a switching circuit to connect the computer to the common data bus; otherwise, the computer remains disconnected from the rest of the multiple computer system.

摘要： An image formation apparatus such as a copying machine has an image forming section including an optical system, an AE mode selection key for setting the automatic density adjustment mode, UP and DOWN keys for manually adjusting the density level, an interruption selection key, a control circuit including a microcomputer for setting a standard density level in the automatic density adjustment mode, and a display for displaying the selected density adjustment mode. Depression of the AE mode selection key for the first time sets the automatic density adjustment mode, and depression of this key for the second time releases the automatic density adjustment mode. The apparatus can reproduce copies of optimal quality for different types of original.

摘要： The lock-up control system stores lock-up speed values for each gear position of the transmission. These values are compared against actual vehicle speed to control lock-up of the transmission. In the system, a counter receives clock pulses from a clock and sensor pulses from a vehicle speed sensor. The sensor pulses have a frequency indicative of information related to vehicle speed. The counter counts sensor pulses within a time interval between two adjacent clock pulses. This count is therefore indicative of vehicle speed.

摘要： The lock-up control system functions to temporally release lock-up operation of a torque converter of the transmission upon occurrence of a gear shift signal even if the automotive vehicle is operating within lock-up range. A plurality of gear shifting detectors are provided, each generating a gear shift signal when triggered. Gate means function to select one of said plurality of gear shifting detectors in response to engine load for allowing transmission of a gear shifting command to a selected gear shifting detector. Delay means are provided to retard transmission of the gear shifting command to the plurality of gear shifting detectors in such a manner that a delay between the occurrence of the gear shifting command and the occurrence of the gear shift signal increases as the engine load decreases.

The disclosed variable capacitor is particularly suited for a miniaturization of an appliance which adopts this variable capacitor. Careful qualification of the electrode materials, dielectric material, additional dielectric substance, and conditions for performing the baking and layer forming operation prevent the formation of the oxide film over the surface of the electrode material, and thus ensures a firm adherence of the layer to the substrate and a large maximum capacitance of the layer.
