Abstract:
An emergency opening device for a swinging folding door or a swinging folding gate, using an electric motor drive with a switchable electromagnetic coupling for closing and opening the door panels. The door has an emergency opening device, whereby the emergency opening device consists of an elastic tension or compression device to which a pre-load can be applied during the closing of the door. The tension or compression device can be engaged in the drive shaft of the outer panel or in the vicinity of the main closing edge of the inner panel.
Abstract:
A waterproof power window apparatus comprises: a driver-seat switch unit; an other-seat switch unit; and a bus line allowing communication to be established between the driver-seat switch unit and the other-seat switch unit. The driver-seat switch unit has: a first controller; a first driving unit for opening and closing a window at the driver seat in a window-sliding operation; an other-seat-window-opening and closing switch; a first submergence-detecting unit; and a first power-supply unit connected to the bus line and provided with a control terminal connected to the first control unit and the first submergence-detecting unit. The other-seat switch unit has: a second control unit; a second driving unit for opening and closing an other-seat window in a window-sliding operation; a second submergence-detecting unit; and a second power-supply unit connected to the bus line and provided with a control terminal connected to the second control unit and the second submergence-detecting unit.
Abstract:
An obstruction detection apparatus is provided for use in closing a power driven vent, such as a window, that is located in an opening. When the vent includes a first closing edge that moves as the vent is closed and the opening includes a second closing edge that is contacted by the first closing edge when the vent is in a fully closed position, the apparatus includes a detector configured to detect an obstruction at points all along the second closing edge without requiring contact between the obstruction and the vent and to deliver a detection signal when an obstruction is detected. A controller is connected to the detector for receiving the detection signal and delivering a corresponding alarm signal.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a vehicle window-opening device for quickly opening a vehicle window manually or automatically. If the vehicle should fall into a sea or river, the window-opening device prevents the passengers from being confined within the vehicle. If the vehicle is fitted with an air bag system, any secondary accident can be prevented. More specifically, there is provided a device for opening a window mounted in a door of a vehicle having a window-driving mechanism for causing the window to slide up or down, the device comprising a gas source, a gas-ejecting mechanism for ejecting the gas of the gas source manually or automatically, and an actuator actuated by an ejected gas from the gas-ejecting mechanism. Wherein a driving force of the actuator is transmitted to the window-driving mechanism, thus driving the window open.
Abstract:
A window propelling system for rapidly opening a window or door. The window propelling system is designed for installation with existing units and preferably includes a lift assembly, a cylinder assembly, a hammer assembly, a firing assembly and a secondary triggering assembly. The lift assembly includes a lift cable attached at opposite ends to the window or door. The cylinder assembly includes a piston cable which drives the lift cable during emergency opening. The cylinder assembly, in turn, is actuated by the firing assembly in response to operation of the hammer assembly. The hammer assembly is released by either an interior trigger or the secondary trigger assembly.
Abstract:
An automatic revolving door drive is described, with a hydraulic piston-cylinder unit with a closing spring and an opener motor, consisting of an electric motor and hydraulic pump. It is a so-called servo closer, with which the door is opened with motor support and automatically closes with hydraulic damping under the influence of the closing spring. In order to be able to use even low-powered opener motors and to produce a relatively compact design, provision is made such that during the motorized opening process the pressure of the hydraulic medium is regulated with adjustment to the prevailing force of the closing spring, in which the closing spring that cooperates with the piston abuts the piston at one end and a hydraulic pressure cushion at the other end, with the same hydraulic pressure being set and regulated by a special pressure-regulating valve in the pressure chamber and in the hydraulic pressure cushion.
Abstract:
A skyhatch or skylight having a case to which one or more wings are pivotably attached whose opening and closing is accomplished by using a combination cable system and pneumatic spring opening and closing mechanism such that the wings can be opened to any desired position between their fully closed and fully opened position on a continuously variable basis.
Abstract:
A track driven power door operator selectively and automatically opens a door swingably mounted on a door frame. The power door operator includes an elongate track housing mounted on the door frame and a power screw disposed within the track housing. A drive is provided for powering the rotation of the power screw about the horizontal axis for moving a slider block linearly along the horizontal axis upon its activation. An arm link is pivotally connected at one of its ends to the slider block and pivotally connected at its other end to the door. A control is provided for controlling the operation of the motor for moving the slider block which rotates the door between its closed and open positions.
Abstract:
A foot treadle for use in opening a sliding door of the type mounted for initial movement in three directional dimensions from its closed position comprises a lever having an axis of rotation. The lever has a leg that depends generally downwardly from the axis and an arm that extends generally laterally from the axis. A pedal is mounted to the arm distally from the axis of rotation. The lever is mounted to a door jamb of a sliding door with the lever leg closely adjacent a lower end of the door for pivotal movement about the lever axis of rotation in pushing and sliding engagement with the door lower end. Upon a person stepping upon the pedal the lever leg applies a force laterally and upwardly against the door lower end thereby urging the door laterally and upwardly out of sealed engagement with the door jamb and floor as the door lower end slides outwardly from the door jamb in sliding contact with the lever leg.
