Abstract:
Disclosed is an accumulator comprising: a pressure vessel; an elastic bellows in which a compressed gas is sealed, an end of the bellows being fixed to an interior of the pressure vessel; a flow path having an opening communicating with the interior and an exterior of the pressure vessel; a valve connected to a movable end of the bellows to operatively close the opening according to elastic motion of the bellows; and a hydraulic chamber partitioned from a gas chamber formed in an interior of the bellows containing the compressed gas. The valve comprises an upper surface which can cover the opening, and plural circular protrusions which surround the entire circumference of the opening and can closely contact the circumference of the opening.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a pressure accumulator which may be used in an electronically controllable vehicle braking system for a motor vehicle. In an electronically controllable vehicle braking system with a cylinder/piston arrangement (i.e., a master cylinder) providing a brake fluid , a brake pedal actuates the cylinder/piston arrangement to provide brake fluid acting on the brake of the motor vehicle. The cylinder/piston arrangement is connectable with a pump arrangement and the pressure accumulator.
Abstract:
A shell is constituted by an outer shell and an end plate. The end plate has a port in communication with a liquid chamber. A bladder divides an internal space of the shell into a liquid chamber and a gas chamber. A gas is introduced into the gas chamber without the provision of a gas inlet hole in the outer shell located on the side of the gas chamber. For example, an accumulator is assembled by combining the outer shell, the end plate and bladder under atmosphere of a high pressure gas.
Abstract:
A bellows is comprised of a unitary body formed of relatively thin annular walls, open at one end and closed at the other. The walls are constructed and arranged as a spiral groove, whereby the bellows can be fabricated from plastic by injection molding in a relatively inexpensive fashion. The bellows can be formed of two layers joined to one another, a backup layer formed of metal or plastic and a protective layer formed of plastic such as PFA and PVDF.
Abstract:
A helium charged accumulator is disclosed for use in hydraulic fluid pressure systems. The size of the accumulator is optimized for particular operating conditions of specific applications of the hydraulic systems by means of a formula. The formula has, as its terms, the volume of the hydraulic fluid required to power a given device, the compressibility factor of the particular gas used and the temperature and pressure of the gas at the beginning of, during, and at the end of the operation cycle of the accumulator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a fluid supply system and seeks to provide a simpler, safer but reliable system than at present known. The fluid supply system comprises a multi-charge solid propellant gas generator and a fluid explusion unit integrated into a single unit, the gas generator being provided in a cap (8) for a chamber (1) having a gas portion (3) and a fluid portion (2) and a movable partition (4) between these two portions operable to expel fluid from the chamber when the gas generator is rendered operative. The system also comprises ignition control means (22) operable to control the ignition of the solid propellant charges (13) when required to give a fully controllable system output. The system can be designed for supplying under pressure fluids such as hydraulic oil, fuels, oxidents and water and is particularly useful in aerospace applications.
Abstract:
A fire extinguishing system having a flow controller which permits fluid discharge from a plurality of discharge heads at a predetermined high flow rate, followed by discharge at a predetermined relatively low flow rate.
