    摘要: A combined dissection tool and blank for implanting a paddle lead having an electrode portion and a lead body. The combined dissection tool and blank includes a blank with a maximum cross-sectional area substantially equal to a maximum cross sectional area of the electrode portion of the paddle lead. An elongated body portion is attached to the blank. A guide wire extends through the body portion substantially to a distal end of the blank. The guide wire provides sufficient column strength to separate fatty tissue to create a space for receiving the paddle lead.

    摘要: The present methods, systems, and kits permit the induction of multimodal injury to a subject's skin. This approach maximizes the responsiveness of the treated area to treatments for producing hair follicles; exciting, activating, and dispersing existing hair-producing structures; and bringing about other physiological changes that correspond to increased hair growth and/or the growth of more robust hairs. In contrast with conventional methodologies, the present methods and systems provide heretofore unattainable advantages through use of a multi-pronged approach of de novo hair follicle production, in combination with reorganization of existing structures to produce new follicular units, as well as pharmaceutical enhancement of both processes, and other gainful techniques.

    摘要: A method for constructing an instrument with a two-part plunger for subcutaneous implantation is provided. An incising body is formed by defining a non-circular coaxial bore and sharpening a distal bottom edge. A two-part plunger including a tongue blade assembly and a plunger assembly is constructed. The tongue blade assembly is constructed by sharpening a beveled end of a flat thin tongue blade and by affixing a straight tongue blade shaft to an end of the tongue blade opposite the beveled end. The tongue blade assembly has a length exceeding the coaxial bore. The plunger assembly is constructed by affixing a plunger to a plunger shaft on a distal end. The plunger assembly has a length exceeding the coaxial bore and is oriented adjacent to the tongue blade assembly. The two-part plunger is inserted through an end of the incising body.

    摘要: A medical device for creating and closing an opening through a vessel wall is described. The device includes a guiding engagement element positioned in a vessel wall; an incising member positionable over the engagement element; and a cutting element, with a recessed notch, at a distal end of the incising member. The cutting element forms a flap on a first portion of a vessel wall, the flap having a first portion attached to the wall and second portion having a first diameter cut and a second diameter cut larger than the first diameter cut. The engagement element includes a retaining element engaging a portion of the flap; and an anchoring element engaging an external surface of the vessel, wherein the retaining element and the anchoring element exert a compressive force on the vessel wall for assisting closure of the cut.
