Abstract: The present invention relates to the treatment of breast cancer, more particularly triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), with the use of an inhibitor of Interleukin 1 Receptor Associated Kinase 1 (IRAK1) such as ginsenosides. It also relates to a method for aiding in categorising or determining prognosis in a breast cancer patient or in selecting a therapeutic strategy comprising assessing the level of IRAK1 nucleic acid, protein or activity in a sample and, in some aspects, further assessing the paclitaxel resistance status of the patient and if the patient is resistant to paclitaxel therapy, treating the patient with an inhibitor of IRAK1 activity. In addition, a screening method for identifying a compound useful for treating breast cancer comprises determining the effect of a test compound on IRAK1 nucleic acid, protein or activity level and selecting a compound that reduces said level.

Abstract: Provided are a system and a method for in vivo detection of adipose tissue browning. The system includes a fiber probe configured to illuminate light on an adipose tissue site; a spectrometer configured to obtain diffuse reflectance spectrum information from the adipose tissue site; a chromophore measure determining module configured to determine a fraction of lipid chromophore with respect to lipid chromophore and water chromophore based on spectrally unmixing the diffuse reflectance spectrum information in a region of 1050 nm to 1400 nm; and a browning detector module configured to detect adipose tissue browning based on the fraction determined above.

Abstract: Various embodiments may provide a delta sigma modulator for generating a digital output voltage. The delta sigma modulator may include a capacitance-to-voltage converter for converting a sensed continuous-in-time applied capacitance signal to a delta analog output voltage signal. The modulator may also include an integrator circuit arrangement configured to generate an analog output voltage signal based on the delta analog output voltage signal. The modulator may additionally include a quantizer circuit arrangement configured to generate the digital output signal based on the analog output voltage signal. The modulator may further include a voltage digital-to-analog converter configured to generate the analog charging voltage based on the digital output signal, thereby generating the delta analog output voltage signal based on the digital output signal.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for feature learning are provided. The apparatus may receive a data sample as an input to a feature learning model. The apparatus may calculate a reconstruction error based on the data sample and a plurality of features of the feature learning model. The apparatus may determine whether the reconstruction error satisfies a first threshold. The apparatus may add a feature into the feature learning model to represent the data sample if the data sample satisfies the first threshold. The apparatus may determine whether the reconstruction error satisfies a second threshold. The apparatus may ignore the data sample if the reconstruction error satisfies the second threshold. The apparatus may update the weights associated with the plurality of features of the feature learning model if the reconstruction error satisfies neither the first threshold nor the second threshold.
