Abstract:
A method and apparatus for calibrating the air flow in a respirator system is provided. The method provides for the establishment of control set points in a true calibration protocol through the simple triggering of the microprocessor of a controller. When the trigger is initiated, the microprocessor engages and provides the logic for the calibration cycle. The calibration cycle proceeds until a second trigger terminates the process and establishes the control set points. The calibration sequence of the method relies only on an initiation and termination trigger that is facilitated by components integral to the apparatus.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods of cleaning articles of manufacture using hydrofluorocarbon and hydrochlorofluorocarbon fluids. The methods comprise generally the steps of (a) providing a hydrofluorocarbon and/or hydrochlorofluorocarbon fluid in liquid or supercritical state; (b) contacting an article of manufacture with said fluid; and (c) removing substantially all of said fluid from said article of manufacture.
Abstract:
Provided are azeotropic and azeotrope-like mixtures of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane (HFC-245fa) and 1-chloro-1,1,3,3,3-pentafluoropropane (HCFC-235fa) that are useful as intermediates in the production of HFC-245fa. A process for separating HFC-245fa and HCFC-235fa is also provided. HFC-245fa is useful as a nontoxic, zero ozone depleting fluorocarbon useful as solvents, blowing agents, refrigerants, cleaning agents, aerosol propellants, heat transfer media, gaseous dielectrics, fire extinguishing compositions and power cycle working fluids.
Abstract:
A material-handling vehicle includes a structure having ground engageable propulsion means, a loader arm mounted on the structure for up and down swinging movement and, on opposite sides of the loader arm, an operator's cab and an engine having an output to provide power for said movement of the loader arm and for propulsion of the vehicle and a drive to connect the output of the engine to the ground engageable propulsion means to propel the vehicle and wherein the drive includes an angle drive and a change speed gear train, the output of the engine is kinematically connected to an input of the angle drive and an output of the angle drive is kinematically connected to an input of the change speed gear train, and an output of the change speed gear train is kinematically connected to the ground engageable propulsion means wherein the output of the engine and the input of the angle drive are disposed longitudinally of the vehicle whilst the output of the angle drive is disposed transversely of the vehicle.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel compositions of 1-bromopropane and at least one organic solvent selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 2-methyl-2-propanol, 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, tetrahydrofiran, nitromethane, ethyl acetate, acetonitrile, hexane, 1,3-dioxolane, 1-chloro-2-methylpropane, 1,1,1,2,3,4,4,5,5,5-decafluoropentane, methyl ethyl ketone and cyclohexane and more particularly to azeotrope-like compositions based on these compounds which are useful as solvents in refrigeration flushing, oxygen system cleaning and vapor degreasing applications.
Abstract:
A closure apparatus is provided that includes a plurality of plug closures interconnected by straps. Each plug includes a blind bore therein into which a sampling needle may be inserted for penetration of the plug in order to extract a sample from the container to which the plug is attached. The plugs are arranged within an array that may correspond to an array of containers set within wells located in a block array. A membrane is also provided that interconnects the straps and the plugs. The plugs are fashioned from an elastomer such as a silicone elastomer. A layer of PTFE is provided on the bottom outer surface of the plugs and may also be included on the underside of the interconnecting straps and membrane, so as to provide an inert barrier in contact with the contents of the containers.

Abstract:
A faucet system includes a cold water control valve and a hot water control valve. These control valves are in communication with each other through a cold water supply conduit and a mixed water conduit. The hot water control valve includes a needle valve and a valve seat. The needle valve is adjustable with respect to the valve seat to adjust the maximum temperature of hot water being supplied by the hot water control valve to the mixed water conduit. In one embodiment, the hot water control valve of the faucet system further includes a pressure balancer disposed between the hot and cold water supply and the hot and cold control valves.
Abstract:
A pressure balancer system 10 having a pressure balancer 20 and a temperature controller 24 on one side of the system and a volume controller 14 on the other side of the system. The pressure balancer 20 receives hot and cold water which it discharges into the temperature controller 24 at substantially constant preselected pressure. The temperature controller 24 is adjustable to set the temperature of the flow to keep the temperature of the anti-scald below the maximum temperature of between 115.degree. F. and 120.degree. F. The volume controller received the temperature adjusted flow from the temperature controller and will set the volume of the flow at the desired volume for discharge therefrom.
