Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving a radio frequency (RF) signal having a carrier wave component that operates at a carrier frequency within a millimeter wave spectrum. The RF signal also includes an information component based on a phase shift keying (PSK) modulation of the carrier wave component. A local oscillator (LO) signal is obtained, which includes an LO frequency that approximates the carrier frequency. The received RF signal and the LO signal are combined without using signal multiplication to obtain a first combined output signal. The first combined output signal being detected via a non-linear energy detector to obtain a first detected signal. The first output signal includes information of the information component. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, generating multiple digital reference pulses synchronously to a master oscillator, selectively switching the multiple digital reference pulses, and providing the switched pulses to multiple radio modules operating within a millimeter wave spectrum. For each radio module, counting cycles of an adjustable LO output signal occurring between consecutive pulses of the switched digital reference pulses, determining a difference between the count value and a reference value, and adjusting the adjustable LO according to the difference. A resulting corrected LO signal is synchronized to the master oscillator. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for an enhanced timing advance scheme to support MU-MIMO in an integrated access and backhaul system. The timing advance scheme disclosed herein aligns the arrival time between backhaul links and access links to enable MU-MIMO gain at the receiver side. In the integrated access and backhaul system, which comprises distributed nodes, the timing advance offset for an access link transmission (a transmission to a node further away in hops from the core network, or to a user equipment device) can be modified by offsetting it with the timing advance of the backhaul link (e.g., from a parent node). This enables the arrival time for transmissions, both access link transmissions from the UE or child node, and backhaul link transmissions from a parent node to arrive at the same time.

Abstract: The disclosed subject matter is directed towards a clear channel assessment procedure based on a common preamble, such as for use with 3GPP and IEEE 802.11 technologies, or any other radio technology, including for use in the 6 GHz band. Detection of the common preamble is based on detecting known sequences in signal part, which can be detected without decoding the preamble's payload (channel) part to determine an ongoing transmission's duration. If an ongoing transmission is detected, subsequent energy detection monitoring is performed to determine when transmission ends, which can use a different energy detection threshold from what is used in the initial clear channel assessment's energy detection. The technology facilitates the usage of different sampling rates by different radio technologies that work concurrently in the same unlicensed band, by correlating a received preamble with a stored preamble that accounts for deterministic distortions arising from the different sampling rates.

Abstract: Controlling and reducing overhead in control channels in 5G or other next generation communication systems is provided herein. In connection with a data transmission between a device and a network node device, an overhead management component (OMC) can analyze one or more factors associated with the device, including speed or Doppler metric(s) of the device, type of service associated with the device, historical HARQ statistics for the device, configured threshold value for CSI estimation, device capability regarding redundancy version support, or other factor(s). Based on analysis results, OMC can determine whether to utilize a single redundancy version state or a multiple redundancy versions state. If the single redundancy version state is selected, OMC can generate control information that does not include redundancy version information, the control information being communicated via a control channel. OMC can communicate RRC signal to the device to indicate the determined redundancy version state.

Abstract: One subscriber identity module (SIM) can transmit data in active mode while another SIM is in an idle mode. However, paging for the SIM in idle mode can occur based on a discontinuous reception configuration (DRX) cycle of the active SIM. For example, when the DRX of the active SIM indicates that the active SIM is in an idle state, then the SIM that is currently in an idle state can send messages and vice versa. The DRX cycle information can be exchanged between a first core network and a second core network. Each core network can belong to the same or different mobile network operator and can have separate radio access networks (RAN) or share the RAN. The DRX cycle information and/or a time-division multiplexing (TDM) pattern can be exchanged over the air via a system information broadcast message.

Another example method may include a processing system of a mobile endpoint device having a processor receiving a wireless signal from a base station of a cellular network, capturing a measurement of a performance indicator based upon the wireless signal, recording a location and spatial orientation information, and transmitting to the cellular network the measurement of the performance indicator, the location, and the spatial orientation information.
