Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a system comprising a distributed unit (DU) configured to generate sounding reference signal (SRS)-based beams, and a remote unit (RU) communicatively coupled with the DU over a fronthaul, wherein the RU is configured to generate demodulation reference signal (DMRS)-based beams and perform digital beamforming for an uplink using the DMRS-based beams in combination with the SRS-based beams. Abstract: Facilitating a group hybrid automatic repeat request procedure for sidelink group-case in advanced networks (e.g., 4G, 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a method can comprise determining, by a first device comprising a processor, that first information received via a sidelink control channel is successfully decoded and that second information received via a sidelink shared channel is not successfully decoded. The first information and the second information can be received from a second device. Further, the method can comprise transmitting, by the first device, negative acknowledgement data based on a group hybrid automatic repeat request feedback procedure. The method also can comprise receiving, by the first device, retransmission of the second information via the sidelink shared channel from a group of devices in response to the negative acknowledgement data.

Abstract: Facilitating sparsity adaptive feedback in the delay doppler domain in advanced networks (e.g., 4G, 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a method can comprise determining, by a first device comprising a processor, a channel covariance matrix in a time-frequency domain based on a channel estimation associated with reference signals received from a second device. The method also can comprise decomposing, by the first device, the channel covariance matrix into a group of component matrices. Further, the method can comprise transforming, by the first device, respective matrices of the group of component matrices into respective covariance matrices in a delay doppler domain. The method also can comprise determining, by the first device, channel state information feedback in the delay doppler domain.

Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards multidimensional grid sampling for radio frequency power feedback. A mobile device can sample radio frequency signal power at multiple sample points, and can send sample values to a base station. The multiple sample points can be defined with reference to a grid having a first dimension and a second dimension, such as time and frequency, or delay and Doppler. A variety of techniques are provided to define the multiple sample points.

Abstract: A base station device can transmit data via multiple data channels to a single user equipment device. Each of the multiple data channels can be configured and scheduled via respective downlink control channels to the user equipment device. In an embodiment, the first data channel can be mapped to multiple layers, with a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) assigned based on the average channel quality indicator (CQI) of the layers. One or more of the layers can have a higher CQI however, capable of supporting an additional transmission. The base station device can then facilitate establishing a second data channel to the layer with the higher CQI. The MCS assigned to the second data traffic channel can be based on the CQI of the layer, or based on a difference between the average CQI of the layers and the CQI of the layer.

Abstract: A user equipment can send a notification to a network node indicating that the user equipment is entering a battery saving mode of operation. Reduced physical layer procedures can be implemented based on reduced capabilities indicated by the user equipment. Reduced physical layer procedures can also be implemented based on the network node's reconfiguration of parameters to facilitate the activation of the reduced physical layer procedures. The user equipment can also send to the network node recommendations of reduced physical layer procedures.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for optimizing identification of a beam in a massive multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) system. The receiver device can select a beam to use for a transmission, and generate channel state information based on a selection of either a single stage beam selection process or a two stage beam selection process. According to an embodiment of the disclosure, the receiver can select which beam selection process to use based on the context of the receiver device. The receiver can select which beam selection process to use based on the long term signal to noise ratio, or the correlation metrics associated with the receiver and transmitter, or based on the path loss between the transmitter and receiver, or based on the location of the receiver relative to the transmitter.

Abstract: When configured, a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) can be used to identify new beams. If CSI-RS based monitoring fails to identify new beams, and no other reference signals (RS) are used for beam management, the user equipment cannot identify a new beam. However, instead of using a 4-step random access channel (RACH) procedure for beam recovery request transmission, a modified 2-step contention-based RACH procedure can saves overhead and reduce latency associated with the 4-step procedure.
