Abstract:
An exercise apparatus includes a thermal system which carries a support structure. The support structure includes an exercise mat. A conduit extends through the exercise mat and has acupressure structures connected to opposed ends. The acupressure structures provide acupressure to a person exercising on the mat. The thermal system flows heat to and from the conduits and acupressure structures to provide the person with therapeutic modalities.
Abstract:
A spa heats or cools air in the air space surrounding the water containment vessel to heat or cool the water in the water containment vessel. The air is heated and cooled and is circulated within the spa cabinet in contact with the underside of the tub and the plumbing for transferring or absorbing heat from the water through the tub and the plumbing. The air is heated by a solid state thermoelectric device or a conventional space heater and is cooled using a solid state thermoelectric device. Preferably a single thermoelectric device is mounted through a wall in the spa cabinet and is used for both heating and cooling the air in the air space.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a spa comprising a spa wall, a bar top region disposed on top of the spa wall, a cup holder disposed in the bar top region and a thermoelectric module for cooling the bar top region so that a beverage disposed within the cup holder remains cool, wherein the thermoelectric module is in thermal contact with the bar top region
Abstract:
The present invention provides a spa comprising a spa area for a spa user and a thermoelectric module providing localized cooling for the spa user in the spa area, wherein the spa includes a spa wall and the thermoelectric module is substantially in contact with an outside surface of the spa wall adjacent to the spa area. The thermoelectric module is disposed substantially behind the back of the user when the user is in the spa area such that the thermoelectric module is maintains the spa user's torso at a lower temperature than that of the user's extremities.
Abstract:
A therapeutic system for massage comprises a massage device having an activation cell comprising a hollow pocket at least partially filled with a ferro-magnetic fluid, a permanent magnet suspended in the ferro-magnetic fluid, a coil of electrically-conductive material in proximity to the pocket, and a connection interface to connect the coil to a source of varying voltage and current, and a power source of varying voltage for connecting to the connection interface to drive the activation cell.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a hypertension descending device capable of curing a hypertension disease by stimulating a patient's Acupuncture point Renying (or referred to as “carotid sinus”) by repeated cold pressure vibration. The hypertension descending device is designed to allow common users to use it easily, and provides a good hypertension descent effect by stimulating the patient's carotid sinus (Acupuncture point Renying) portion while maintaining a uniform cooling temperature of the contact tip, which is in contact with the patient's carotid sinus (Acupuncture point Renying) portion.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is disclosed for providing therapy for acute or chronic wounds and other clinical conditions, and/or for altering flow of bodily fluids, that uses pressure and temperature to promote healing or comfort. The pressure can be negative, positive, or cyclic to promote bodily fluid flow, particularly in cases of venous insufficiency. The pressure is supplied by a chamber that encases the desired site and seals to the skin of the patient, and a pump that controls the pressure within the chamber. The temperature is supplied by a heat exchange surface in proximity to the skin within the area surrounded by the pressure chamber, and can be any temperature within the range of physiological tolerance; including temperatures both above and below normal physiological temperatures. The temperature of the heat exchange surface is controlled by an apparatus outside the chamber, and may be continuous or cyclic. The heat exchange surface may have a disposable covering that serves as a wound dressing. Generally, the heat exchange surface is applied to the skin surface at a desired temperature, the chamber is sealed over the area, and pressure is drawn. The patient may be treated over a period of time ranging from minutes to weeks or months.
Abstract:
A device for activating cells over a prolonged period, comprises a stimuli imparting device for imparting stimuli to a human body, and a state changing device for changing the state of the stimuli imparted by the stimuli imparting device.
Abstract:
Prosthesis substructure for ceramic coating is configured for reduced metallic body volume, increased vertical loading strength and increased surface bonding area for ceramic bond. This is accomplished by configuring the substructure with generally triangular truss configuration.
