Abstract:
A multi-component end cap is provided. The multiple components combine to form one or more seal carriers where each seal carrier is formed in part by at least two different ones of the components. Methods of manufacturing an end cap having multiple components are also provided.
Abstract:
Filter cartridge arrangements, features thereof and assembly for use therewith, are provided. Selected filter cartridge features disclosed are particularly well adapted for use with a safety or secondary filter cartridge, usable with media thereof projecting into an open interior of a main filter cartridge, in use. An example filter cartridge is described, with a non-pleated end and a pleated end, although variations are also described. Advantageous main cartridges are also described. Methods of assembly and systems for use are described.
Abstract:
A filter assembly includes a filter body, a removable filter cartridge, and a bypass valve with incinerable and non-incinerable portions. The bypass valve includes a valve seat and a movable valve closure element removable with the removable filter cartridge and incinerable. The bypass valve includes a return member remaining in the filter body. A method is provided for controlling bypass valve-opening threshold pressure.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for separating media, in particular for removing gases, such as air, from a fluid, such as oil, comprising a separating apparatus (10), which causes the medium to rotate upon entering the separating apparatus for the purpose of carrying out the separation and which has one outlet point (14, 12) each for the gas and for the fluid, said outlet points being separated from each other, wherein the device for separating media is characterized in that the separating apparatus (10) has a bypass valve (16), which is arranged downstream of the fluid flow and upstream of the outlet point (12) for the fluid and through which at least part of the medium flows to the outlet point (12) for the fluid in order to bypass the region of the separating apparatus (10) designed to remove gas front the fluid, provided the medium in the vicinity of the bypass valve (16) exerts a pressure sufficient to open the bypass valve (16).
Abstract:
A filter system having a filter element ejection device is provided. Filter systems according to the present invention may include a filter element that includes an ejection receiver for receiving actuation action from an ejector of a filter housing. The ejector engages the ejection receiver when a user desires to eject the filter element from the filter housing. Typically, the ejector extends through the filter housing and axially ejects the filter element from the housing.
Abstract:
An upper endcap of a fuel filter cartridge includes a skirt, an axially extending pin surrounded by the skirt, and a plurality of ribs that define fluid flow channels leading to the pin. The pin is extendable through an axially facing fuel inlet opening at the upper end of a standpipe for actuating a valve to an open position allowing fuel to flow through the axially facing inlet opening and into the standpipe. The valve can include a hole that receives the pin therein to help stabilize the valve when the valve is actuated open.
Abstract:
A filter device having a filter element (9) forming a body extending along a longitudinal axis received in a housing (1) closed by a cover part (3). A sealing arrangement (49) is provided to form a fluid-tight seal between the housing (1) and the cover part (3). The sealing arrangement (49) is a component of a filter element (9) and is fixed to a sealing carrier (48) rigidly connected to the filter element.
Abstract:
A filter arrangement is provided, as well as methods of assembly and use. Advantageous features, relating to a preferred filter cartridge and a preferred slide arrangement, are provided. A filter cartridge is provided that includes a plurality of projections spaced from one another around a central axis. Also, a liquid filter assembly arrangement is provided that includes a plate arrangement having a central liquid flow channel, the central liquid flow channel including a cartridge positioning projection arrangement therein, comprising at least one projection extending radially toward a central axis.
Abstract:
Disclosed are modular filter-in-filter elements, namely an outer filter element and an inner filter element which may be assembled to form a filter cartridge for use in separation methods and systems. The outer filter element typically functions as a coalescing element and the inner element typically functions as a particulate filter element. The disclosed filter cartridges may be structured for separating water from a hydrocarbon-based liquid fuel as the fuel moves through the cartridge from outside to inside.
