Abstract: An image is rendered based a neural radiance field (NeRF) volumetric representation of a scene, where the NeRF representation is based on captured frames of video data, each frame including a color image, a widefield IR image, and a plurality of depth IR images of the scene. Each depth IR image is captured when the scene is illuminated by a different pattern of points of IR light, and the illumination by the patterns occurs at different times. The NeRF representation provides a mapping between positions and viewing directions to a color and optical density at each position in the scene, where the color and optical density at each position enables a viewing of the scene from a new perspective, and the NeRF representation provides a mapping between positions and viewing directions to IR values for each of the different patterns of points of IR light from the new perspective.

Abstract: The technology disclosed herein involves using a transformation curve to modify colors of images so that those images are more easily viewed by persons with a color vision deficiency (CVD). The transformation curve is applied to spectral versions of images in which each pixel has a spectral representation to modify the spectral versions of the images. A spectral version of an image is modified by, for each pixel of the spectral version of the image, modifying intensities of one or more wavelengths by applying the one or more wavelengths to the transformation curve, which transforms the intensities from source wavelengths to destination wavelengths. The modified spectral version of the image is then modified to a modified version of the image in a color space, such as the RGB color space.

Abstract: An aspect of the present invention is a processor for an electronic endoscope that acquires a captured image of a living tissue and performs enhancement processing. The processor includes: a region detection unit configured to detect an enhancement processing target region in the captured image from pixel information of the captured image of the living tissue; and an enhancement processing unit configured to perform enhancement processing on the enhancement processing target region detected by the region detection unit. The region detection unit detects the enhancement processing target region based on a difference in signal level between a pixel of interest in the captured image and a pixel surrounding the pixel of interest, and the enhancement processing unit performs enhancement processing on the enhancement processing target region such that enhancement is weakened as the difference in signal level is larger and enhancement is strengthened as luminance is higher.
