Abstract:
In an electronic imaging apparatus, image information of an image signal photoelectrically converted from an image incident is stored in image information storing means in a format dependent upon a type of the applied storage device. Provided therein are communication means for transmitting and/or receiving image information generated in this apparatus or the other equivalent apparatuses while an operation mode of the apparatus is set for communication and switch means for causing the communication means to start a communication mode operation.
Abstract:
A CPU determines whether the intended use of the image data to be stored in a plurality of HDDs has a first-type purpose, which requires storing temporarily stored image data for carrying out output processing of the image data, or a second-type purpose, which requires long-term preservation of the image data. If the first-type intended use is determined, a first-type mode for saving is selected, wherein the image data to be stored are divided and each divided set of image data is stored into one HDD. If the second-type intended use is determined, a second-type mode for saving is selected, wherein the same image data part is saved in a plurality of storage means.
Abstract:
An electronic still camera comprises an image sensor which allows each of its horizontal lines to be individually specified so that a video signal contained in each specified horizontal line can be read, a storage circuit for storing the video signal read from the image sensor, a selecting circuit for selecting a high-speed continuous shooting mode, and a controlling circuit for executing, when the high-speed continuous shooting mode is selected by the selecting circuit, control to effect a high-speed reading for reading the video signal from the image sensor by thinning out the horizontal lines of the image sensor, and to cause the storage circuit to store video signals for a plurality of pictures obtained by the high-speed reading.
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments provide a technique that processes captured images derived from selected targeted objects in a field of view. The captured images may be transferred via a communication link to a storage location for future availability. A possible aspect may provide a cross-reference association between saved multiple exposures having different quality characteristics. In some instances an identifier record is provided to enable future accessibility to selected captured data by one or more authorized parties or approved devices or authorized recipients. In some embodiments the captured data may include both a video data stream and one or more still image frames derived from related fields of view. Stored versions of the captured images may be provided in original or altered form to be incorporated in a composite visual work.
Abstract:
According to this invention, an image sensing apparatus capable of directly communicating with a printing apparatus guarantees that a printing apparatus with a photo-direct printing function normally prints even for a sensed image file containing raw image data and encoded image data such as JPEG obtained in a versatile encoding process. Hence, a digital camera can directly communicate with the printing apparatus. When the digital camera side selects a print target image and starts performing a print output, a print target image file is directly transmitted if the image file is a JPEG file. When the digital camera side selects a file containing raw and JPEG images, and the printing apparatus has a raw image printing function, the selected image file is directly output. When the file containing the raw and JPEG images is selected, and the printing apparatus does not have the raw image printing function, it is decided whether the size of the selected image file exceeds the upper limit size acceptable to the printing apparatus. If the file size exceeds the upper limit size, the raw image data is removed in order to reduce the file size, and the obtained data is transmitted to the printing apparatus. When an upper limit is not set, the selected image file is directly transmitted.
Abstract:
Embodiments include an apparatus, device, system, computer-program product, and method. In an embodiment, a device includes a user-accessible digital storage medium, and a storage medium manager module. The storage manager module includes a storage manager module operable to save a digital image in a form in the user-accessible digital storage medium, and then alter the form of the saved digital image if a condition is met.

Abstract:
A method for viewing digital still photographs is provided. The method including: inputting at least one digital data file representing a digital still photograph, the at least one digital data file and location stamp indicating a time when the photograph was taken or a location where the photograph was taken, digital still photograph; and altering an ambient characteristic based on at least one of the time and location stamps.
Abstract:
In an image sensing apparatus which stores data of images obtained by an image sensor as image files, in a directory in a recording medium in which the number of recordable image files is predetermined in accordance with a predetermined storage format, a first number of files makable in the recording medium is calculated based on the predetermined storage format, a second number of files recordable in the recording medium is calculated based on a remaining capacity of the recording medium, the first number of files and the second number of files are compared with each other, notification is instructed to be made in correspondence with the result of comparison, and notification is made in response to the instruction.
Abstract:
Briefly described, one embodiment is a method comprising storing, in the memory, a plurality of digital images received from the source, each image representing an event captured at a different respective time, using the processor to perform an analysis of the images, assigning a quality factor to each image, the quality factor being representative of the composition quality of the analysed images, and updating the memory to maintain images for which the assigned quality factor indicates a higher composition quality than an image captured at an earlier time.
