Abstract: Methods are provided for treating a subject for an EGFRvIII expressing glioblastoma. The methods of the present disclosure involve administering to the subject a molecular circuit that is primed by EGFRvIII to induce one or more encoded therapeutics specific for one or more antigens expressed by the glioblastoma. Nucleic acids containing sequences encoding all or portions of such circuits are also provided, as well as cells, expression cassettes and vectors that contain such nucleic acids. Also provided are kits for practicing the described methods.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for fragmenting cDNA on a support, where such fragmenting allows for application of short-read sequencing to longer cDNAs. In this method, the fragments of a cDNA molecule each receive the same unique molecular identifier (UMI), thereby allowing assembly of cDNA sequences from multiple short read sequences. Thus, the sequencing, transcript reconstruction and transcript analysis may be done at single molecule resolution.

Abstract: A dendrite resistant battery may include a first electrode, a second electrode, and an electrolyte interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The dendrite resistant battery may further include at least one acoustic wave device configured to generate a plurality of acoustic waves during a charging of the battery. The charging of the battery may trigger cations from the first electrode to travel through the electrolyte and deposit on the second electrode. The plurality of acoustic waves may agitate the electrolyte to at least homogenize a distribution of cations in the electrolyte. The homogenization of the distribution of cations may prevent a formation of dendrites on the second electrode by at least increasing a uniformity of the deposit of cations on the second electrode. Related methods and systems for battery management are also provided.

Abstract: In one aspect the present disclosure relates to a system for forming a three dimensional (3D) object from a volume of photo-responsive material contained within a material container. A plurality of optical projection subsystems are adapted to be arranged at least partially circumferentially around a material container containing the volume of photo-responsive material, and are controlled by a controller. The optical projection subsystems direct optical projections at a plurality of angles θ through the volume of photo-responsive material. The optical projections are further directed about a z axis extending through the volume of photo-responsive material. The plurality of optical subsystems are further controlled by the controller to provide each of the optical projections with a calculated three-dimensional intensity distribution acting over a fixed temporal exposure period, which is sufficient to at least one of cure or remove selected portions of the volume of photo-responsive material, and leave other portions unmodified, to form a desired 3D part.

Abstract: Disclosed are devices placed onto an endotracheal tube to create a bend in the tube at a predetermined position. In one aspect, an endotracheal tube bending apparatus comprises a backbone portion creating an angle between a proximate end of the apparatus and a distal end of the apparatus, and a plurality of curved extensions structured to capture a tubing against the backbone portion. In another aspect an endotracheal tube bending apparatus comprises a first prong attached to a base at a first proximate end and having a nub at a first distal end. A second prong and a third prong are each attached to the base at a second and third proximate ends and connected together via a bridge structure at a second and third distal ends. A pocket in the bridge is configured to capture the nub to hold the endotracheal tube in a bent position.

Abstract: Compounds for binding carbon monoxide are provided (e.g., to sequest carbon monoxide in a composition). Compounds according to certain embodiments include water soluble metal porphyrin complexes having substituents that provide for water solubility at physiological pH and form a hydrophobic carbon monoxide (CO)-binding pocket. In certain embodiments. metal porphyrin complexes exhibit limited cellular uptake. In some instances, the compounds described herein are capable of rescuing CO-poisoned red blood cells. Methods for treating a subject exposed to carbon monoxide (e.g., experiencing carbon monoxide poisoning) are also provided. Compositions for practicing the subject methods are also described.
