摘要: In a WDM transmission system, a wavelength selecting switch demultiplexes a first WDM light containing a plurality of wavelength components into a plurality of single wavelength lights each containing corresponding one of the wavelength components, effects multiplexing on the plurality of single wavelength lights to form a second WDM light, and effects demultiplexing on the outputted second WDM light. A wavelength demultiplexing unit demultiplexes the demultiplexed second WDM light into a plurality of wavelength demultiplexed lights for every wavelength component so that physical quantity monitoring can be made on each wavelength demultiplexed light deriving from the demultiplexing. In this way, transmission channel switching can be independently effected on the wavelength light having a single component contained in the WDM light, wavelength demultiplexing elements provided in a spectral optical system can be shared to reduce the number of elements, and the wavelength selection switch can be assembled with ease.

摘要: A silicon carbide semiconductor device such as JFET, SIT and the like is provided for accomplishing a reduction in on-resistance and high-speed switching operations. In the JFET or SIT which turns on/off a current with a depletion layer extending in a channel between a gate region formed along trench grooves, a gate contact layer and a gate electrode, which can be supplied with voltages from the outside, are formed on one surface of a semiconductor substrate or on the bottom of the trench groove. A metal conductor (virtual gate electrode) is formed in ohmic contact with a p++ contact layer of the gate region on the bottom of the trench grooves independently of the gate electrode. The virtual gate electrode is electrically isolated from the gate electrode and an external wire.

摘要: A silicon carbide semiconductor device that includes J-FETs has a drift layer of epitaxially grown silicon carbide having a lower impurity concentration level than a substrate on which the drift layer is formed. Trenches are formed in the surface of the drift layer, and first gate areas are formed on inner walls of the trenches. Second gate areas are formed in isolation from the first gate areas. A source area is formed on channel areas, which are located between the first and second gate areas in the drift layer. A method of manufacturing the device ensures uniform channel layer quality, which allows the device to have a normally-off characteristic, small size, and a low likelihood of defects.

摘要: A DC voltage value is obtained at least at an inside position, an intermediate position, and an outside position on a disc (1) from a drive signal that is supplied to a focusing coil (4) built into an optical pickup (2). From the DC voltage values is obtained a relationship of a position between the respective positions and the DC voltage value, and this relationship is stored into a memory circuit (12). Then, during recording or playback, the DC voltage value that is calculated on the basis of the recording or playback position of the signal at that time and the AC signal included in the drive signal that is supplied to the focusing coil (4) are added to create a signal to be supplied to a tilt adjustment coil (6).
