摘要: The present invention is to provide such a liquid crystal composition that satisfies plural characteristic features selected from a wide temperature range of a nematic phase, a low viscosity, an appropriate optical anisotropy, a large negative dielectric anisotropy and a large specific resistance. The liquid crystal composition of the invention contains, as a first component, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by Formula (1-1) to (1-4); contains, as a second component, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by Formula (2-1) to (2-3); and has a negative dielectric anisotropy. In the following formulae, all the symbols are defined in claim 1.

摘要: Activated regular-shaped clay particles forming macropores therein, preserving fine structure of the dioctahedral smectite clay minerals, and having particle diameters controlled to lie within a range in which they exhibit excellent filtering property. The invention further provides method of producing activated regular-shaped clay particles comprising the steps of adjusting the particle size of the dioctahedral smectite clay minerals to possess a volume-based median diameter (D50) of from 1 to 10 &mgr;m as found by a laser diffraction method, mixing an acid-soluble or acid-decomposing inorganic compound to the milled product thereof, granulating the mixture into regular particles having a volume-based median diameter (D50) of from 10 to 60 &mgr;m as found by a laser diffraction method, and treating the regular-shaped particles with an acid while maintaining the particle shapes.

摘要: A suck back valve is proposed which prevents change in the amount of fluid which is sucked by the suck back valve, and which improves response accuracy of a diaphragm, together with accurately controlling a displacement amount and a displacement speed thereof. A diaphragm displaceably disposed confronting an interior of a flow passage is formed from a first membrane and a second membrane stacked on the first membrane, wherein the first membrane is sucked into contact with the second membrane through holes defined in the second membrane, by activation of a negative pressure generating source which is connected to a chamber through a passage, and wherein the form of the first membrane is maintained by the second membrane.

摘要: The present invention relates to an arrayed recording apparatus having spare devices for replacing faulty disk drives. Each of the SCSI controllers in the arrayed recording apparatus connects to a driver/receiver and further connects to spare disk drives. Each of the SCSI controllers accesses the spare disk drive by setting a receive/enable signal effective to the driver/receiver. Unused ID numbers are assigned to the spare disks. If a disk drive develops a fault, the RAID controller RC requests the SCSI controller to replace the faulty disk drive with the spare disk drive. It is possible to attain the function of the hot stand-by system without comprising a specific spare controller.
