Abstract:
A filter device includes a main body portion having a cylinder shape, and the main body portion is inserted along a center axis of the pipe. One end portion of the main body portion structuring a filter device is blocked. At least one portion of a flange portion is provided between both end portions of the cylinder, and the flange portion divides a space inside the pipe in a liquid-tight state by elastically deforming and by being attached firmly to an inner surface of the pipe. A first passing portion of the liquid is provided in a cylinder side portion between the one end portion of the cylinder and the flange portion, and a second passing portion of the liquid is provided on a side close to the other end portion of the cylinder than the flange portion.
Abstract:
A fluid filter may include a filter housing including a pot and a lid. A ring filter element may be arranged within the filter housing, through which flow may pass radially and which separates an untreated space from a clean space. The ring filter element may have an upper and a lower end disc. A heating device may be configured to allow heating of the fluid to be filtered. The filter housing may define a port into which the heating device is inserted and the port may separate the heating device from the fluid to be heated.
Abstract:
A filter within a filter cartridge design is described that includes a sealing structure on an endplate of an outer filter element. Generally, the sealing structure includes an annular flange on the endplate that can directly seal against an interior surface of a housing when the filter cartridge is assembled for use. During filtration, the annular flange prevents a working fluid from bypassing the outer filter element. The sealing flange can seal with the housing in a press fit engagement.
Abstract:
A filter element having an end cap is provided with a seal that can better accommodate non-round holes. The seal may be a chevron type seal and/or other similar seal having a sealing flange for forming a radial seal. Methods of replacing a filter having an O-ring gasket to improve upon sealing are provided as well as filtration systems employing the filter element.
Abstract:
A filter module includes a filter element with a ring of media and an end cap at one end of the ring. The end cap includes an annular body with a sealing member located around a surface of the body circumscribing a central opening, wherein the sealing member has a repeating, undulating, non-planar geometry. The axial, distal end of the annular body also has an repeating, undulating non-planar geometry, matching the geometry of the sealing member, and can have one or more tabs projecting axially outward from the distal end, positioned at a point of maximum amplitude of the distal end, and which are received in cooperating slots formed in a socket of a diaphragm, to facilitate positioning and installing the element into the module. The socket includes an outer wall having a matching non-planar geometry which receives and seals against the sealing member on the end cap.
Abstract:
A filter and filter element is provided that incorporates a valve member for preventing priming fluid from contaminating a clean fluid side of the filter or filter element. The filter may incorporate a replaceable filter element or be replaceable itself. The valve member is preferably formed as an annular flange of a grommet mounted to an end cap of the filter element. The annular flange sealingly engages with the end cap and closes a clean fluid outlet port in a relaxed state and opens the clean fluid outlet port in a deformed state.
Abstract:
One embodiment is a unique replaceable filter element. Further embodiments, forms, objects, features, advantages, aspects, and benefits shall become apparent from the following description and drawings.
Abstract:
A filter element is removably positionable within a filter housing defining a filter chamber for said filter element. The filter housing comprises a standpipe extending within the filter chamber. The filter element includes a tubular filter media circumscribing the standpipe, a first end cap supporting the filter media at one end thereof, a second end cap longitudinally spaced from the first end cap and supporting the filter media at the opposite end thereof, and a center tube extending between the first and second end caps. The center tube has at least one inlet opening therethrough at a first end thereof adjacent to the first end cap and a standpipe opening therethrough at a second end thereof adjacent to the second end cap. The second end cap has at least one intake opening therethrough radially spaced from the standpipe opening in the center tube.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device (8) for a fuel filter system (10, 14) separating water from the fuel, characterized in that the water takes on a property enhancing the separation by means of the device (8) by the action of the medium (42).
Abstract:
A fluid filtering apparatus and method may include keyed components to ensure that a correct filter element is being installed into a filter base. Keyed arrangements may occur between a filter element and a filter housing, a filter and a filter base, and a filter base and a filter housing. A locking arrangement may be provided to prevent undesired loosening of a filter relative to a filter base. The filter base may include a torsion lock insert that engages lock detents of a filter to prevent the undesired loosening. An adaptor may be provided to provide the lock detents that interact with a torsion lock insert.
