Abstract: A drive assembly configured to adjust a motor vehicle closure element including a clutch assembly provided with an input connection and an output connection. The clutch assembly includes a main braking element, configured to brake a movement from the output side, and a freewheel assembly configured to engage the main braking element from movement of the output side and disengage the main braking element by means of a movement from the input side. The brake assembly includes an auxiliary braking element configured to produce a predetermined permanent braking action by means of which the auxiliary braking element acts at least against the movement introduced on the output side, and that the predetermined permanent braking action of the auxiliary braking element has to be overcome to enable the freewheel assembly to disengage.

Abstract: An instrument panel for a vehicle includes a glovebox aperture and a glovebox assembly. The glovebox aperture is defined by the instrument panel. A perimeter of the glovebox aperture defines an actuation surface and a latch aperture such that the actuation surface and the latch aperture are unitarily formed with the instrument panel. The glovebox assembly includes a storage compartment and a latch assembly. The glovebox assembly is received within the glovebox aperture. The glovebox assembly is operable between a stowed position and a deployed position relative to the glovebox aperture. The latch assembly includes a latch that is configured to be received within the latch aperture when the glovebox assembly is in the stowed position.

Abstract: An emergency bi-fold door closing prevention system includes a building having an access opening with an upper edge. A bi-fold door is hingedly mounted to the building wall and includes a plurality of panels each being laterally elongated. The plurality of panels includes a bottom panel having a bottom edge that is positionable adjacent to a floor surface to define a closed position. A safety line assembly is attached to and extends between the building wall adjacent to the upper edge and the bi-fold door adjacent to the bottom edge. The safety line has an extendable length. The length of the safety line assembly extends when the bi-fold door moves toward the closed position below a threshold velocity. The length of the safety line assembly is inhibited from extending when the bi-fold door moves toward the closed position above the threshold velocity.

Abstract: A friction based counterbalance mechanism for coupling with a closure panel of a vehicle to assist in opening and closing of the closure panel, the counterbalance mechanism including: a first housing having a first pivot connection mount for connecting to one of a body of the vehicle and the closure panel; an extension member coupled to the first housing at one end and being extendable and retractable with respect to a second housing coupled adjacent to the first housing along an axis, the second housing for connecting by a second pivot connection mount to the other of the body and the closure panel; a sliding friction mechanism having: a shaped sleeve mounted on an exterior surface of the extension member, the shaped sleeve providing an exterior friction surface; and a resilient friction element mounted to the second housing in a fixed location on the axis, the resilient friction element positioned between second housing and the shaped sleeve and biased into contact with the exterior friction surface; wherein relative movement between the shaped sleeve and the resilient friction element as the extension member is displaced generates sliding friction between the resilient friction element and the shaped sleeve.

Abstract: A portable information handling system housing rotationally couples housing portions with a dual axis synchronized gear to rotate about parallel spaced axes that define a radius to support folding of a flexible display. Each axis of the synchronized gear couples to a housing portion with a sliding bracket that adjusts length during rotation. Plural pivot arms couple to a main body of the hinge at the first and second axes and to the housing portions to manage spacing of the housing portions during rotation. A sliding member coupled to the main body engages with the plural pivot arms to synchronize rotation of the plural pivot arms and regulate torsional forces related to rotation of the housing portions that can damage a display film folding at the hinge.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a dual-shaft structure which comprises a first shaft, a second shaft being arranged beside the first shaft, and a slider. The first shaft has a protruding first stop pin. The second shaft has a protruding second stop pin. The slider includes a first spiral slot and a second spiral slot. In response to a rotation of the first shaft, the first stop pin travels along the first spiral slot to move the slider linearly along an axial direction of the first shaft. In response to the linear movement of the slider, the second shaft rotates with the first shaft through an interaction between the second spiral slot and the second stop pin.
