    Abstract: A barrier movement or garage door operator has a jack shaft connected to an output shaft delivering power to move a barrier or garage door between open and closed positions, the jack shaft and output shaft being connected by a coupling. The coupling, jack shaft, and output shaft are fixed relative to each other. The coupling connects the jack shaft and output shaft for rotation around a common axis. The coupling receives a portion of the jack shaft and output shaft for securing the shafts within the coupling by compressing against an outer surface of each shaft. The shafts may be cylindrical, and the compressive force may be distributed around the cylindrical outer surface of the shafts. The coupling may have a portion sized to correspond to respective predetermined diameters or sizes of the shafts.

    Abstract: A flap drive for a flap includes two identical lever joint arrangements which are arranged in pairs at a distance from one another. The flap can be moved out of its closing position into its opening position and back by the flap drive. In this case, the lever joint arrangements are articulated pivotably with one of their ends in each case on a side region of the flap and with their other ends at a fixed location on the motor vehicle.     Abstract: A power-operated system for actuating the rear doors or liftgates of motor vehicles is disclosed. The system includes a strut assembly having two struts, each strut mounted on one side of the door between the door and the vehicle's door frame. One end of each strut is connected to a powered rotating arm. To open the door, the rotating arms change the angular orientation of the struts such that they have a substantial mechanical advantage. In this position, the force provided by the struts overcomes the weight bias of the door, thus opening the door. To close the door, the rotating arms change the angular orientation of the struts such that the struts have a decreased mechanical advantage, reducing the force provided by the struts, and therefore causing the door to fall closed under its own weight bias. A control system for controlling the power-operated system is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A door glass raising and falling apparatus has a carrier plate 71 mounted onto a door glass 70. The door glass 70 is movable along sashes 41, 42 disposed on a door. The carrier plate 71 includes securing portions that are fixed to moving portions 67a, 67b of a wire-rope body 67. The carrier plate 71 also has a glass support portion 74 for supporting the door glass 70, and a pair of front and rear glass fixing portions 77, 78 each including a screw member 75. The door glass 70 has mounting holes supported by the glass fixing portions 77, 78, respectively. The dimension of the mounting holes is larger than the outside diameter of the shaft portion of each of the screw members 75 so that the door glass 70 is moveable with respect to the carrier plate 71. Also, a wire-rope body 150 extends over a plurality of pulleys. Some of the pulleys 142, 143 are rotatably mounted on frame members 136, 137 by pulley shafts 182 respectively.     Abstract: A sliding door suspension system and a sliding door assembly for supporting a heavy sliding door from a door frame includes a rail horizontally mounted to the door frame. The suspension system includes a roller assembly which rollingly engages the rail and supports the heavy door. The roller assembly includes an axle or shaft having a bearing surface. The axle has at least one threaded end for securing the roller assembly and for attaching the roller assembly to a door hanger from which the heavy door is suspended. The roller assembly further includes a roller with a concentric hollow bore for seating a bearing assembly or bushing through which the axle extends in supportive engagement with the bearing assembly. The rail has a convex arcuate upper roller guide surface. The roller has a concave arcuate roller guide engaging surface which conforms to and engages the upper surface of the rail. The roller assembly also includes a door height and alignment adjusting member which threadably engages the axle. In one embodiment, the door height adjusting member comprises an eccentric sleeve, whereas in an alternative embodiment, the door height adjusting member comprises an adjuster block.
