Abstract:
A catheter for delivering an agent to an injection site in a wall of a patient's body lumen, with an elongated shaft having a needle-through lumen slidably containing a needle therein, and an expandable member on the distal shaft section which has a collapsed configuration and a radially expanded configuration. In the radially expanded configuration, the expandable member supports the shaft in a position spaced away from the body lumen wall, and the needle slidably exits the needle-through lumen in the extended configuration through the port spaced away from the body lumen wall as a portion of the expandable member maintains the position of the port section of the shaft in the body lumen. The expandable member typically has an open-walled, helical, or lobed configuration providing a perfusion path along the expandable member.
Abstract:
Various techniques are disclosed for facilitating gesture-based interactions with intelligent multi-player electronic gaming systems which include a multi-user, multi-touch input display surface capable of concurrently supporting contact-based and/or non-contact-based gestures performed by one or more users at or near the input display surface. Gestures may include single touch, multi-touch, and/or near-touch gestures. Some gaming system embodiments may include automated hand tracking functionality for identifying and/or tracking the hands of users interacting with the display surface. In some gaming system embodiments, the multi-user, multi-touch input display surface may be implemented using a multi-layered display (MLD) display device which includes multiple layered display screens. Various types of MLD-related display techniques disclosed herein may be advantageously used for facilitating gesture-based user interactions with a MLD-based multi-user, multi-touch input display surface and/or for facilitating various types of activities conducted at the gaming system, including, for example, various types of game-related and/or wager-related activities. According to various embodiments, users interacting with the multi-user, multi-touch input display surface may convey game play instructions, wagering instructions, and/or other types of instructions to the gaming system by performing various types of gestures at or over the multi-user, multi-touch input display surface. In some embodiments, the gaming system may include gesture processing functionality for: detecting users' gestures, identifying the user who performed a detected gesture, recognizing the gesture, interpreting the gesture, mapping the gesture to one or more appropriate function(s), and/or initiating the function(s). In at least some embodiments, such gesture processing may take into account various external factors, conditions, and/or information which, for example, may facilitate proper and/or appropriate gesture recognition, gesture interpretation, and/or gesture-function mapping.
Abstract:
Some implementations of the invention provide methods, devices and systems for acquiring patron data in real time. A plurality of networked cameras may be used to acquire information regarding casino patrons. The cameras may include “smart cameras” having an integrated machine vision system. The real-time information may be used to populate one or more databases of a player loyalty program. Patron information may also be used to determine trends associated with patron demographics, with levels of a player loyalty program, etc. Some implementations of the invention involve monitoring patron event data and determining when predetermined events of interest occur. When a defined event occurs, patron data relating to the associated patron may be monitored, analyzed and used to populate one or more player loyalty databases. In some implementations, patron data acquired prior to the time of the defined event may also be analyzed and used.
Abstract:
Novel gaming networks, devices, and systems for enabling game play on wireless, mobile gaming devices based on the location of the device are described. A mobile gaming device can be used for wagering game play when the device is physically present in an authorized game play zone in a gaming environment and is used by an authorized and verified user. A gaming environment is divided into zones wherein a zone either allows wagering game play on a device or does not. A zone has multiple transmitters that transmit security signals that are detectable by a mobile device at all times while the device is in the zone. An appropriate wireless communication standard can be used to transmit the security signal, such as near-field magnetic communication. The device has at least one user identification and authentication mechanism to ensure that only an authorized user is using the device.
Abstract:
A disclosed gaming machine may securely communicate with devices over a public network such as the Internet. The gaming machine utilizes a combination of symmetric and asymmetric encryption that allows a single gaming machine to securely communicate with a remote server using a public network. The secure communication methods may be used to transfer gaming software and gaming information between two gaming devices, such as between a game server and a gaming machine. For regulatory and tracking purposes, the transfer of gaming software between the two gaming devices may be authorized and monitored by a software authorization agent.
Abstract:
A disclosed gaming machine may securely communicate with devices over a public network such as the Internet. The gaming machine utilizes a combination of symmetric and asymmetric encryption that allows a single gaming machine to securely communicate with a remote server using a public network. A wireless or wired communication gateway on the gaming machine may be used to access the public network. Using the encryption scheme, methods are described for providing game licenses, data acquisition and other gaming transactions, such as gaming machine software version management, gaming machine diagnostics and gaming machine configuration management, between a gaming machine and a remote server.
Abstract:
A one-step process for the preparation of organodisilanes. The process comprises contacting magnesium metal with a mixture comprising diethylene glycol dibutyl ether, an organic halide, and a halodisilane at a temperature within a range of about 0.degree. C. to 250.degree. C. The process provides a high yield of organodisilane product that is easily recoverable. The present process is especially useful for converting halodisilanes in a high-boiling mixture resulting from the direct process for making organosilane monomers into hexaorganodisilanes.
Abstract:
This invention discloses a method of controlling hydrosilylations in a reaction mixture by controlling the solution concentration of oxygen in the reaction mixture, relative to any platinum present in the reaction mixture. This invention further discloses a method for controlling isomerization in linear or branched alkenyl compounds having at least 4 carbon atoms during a hydrosilylation reaction by introducing a controlled amount of oxygen into the alkenyl compounds during the hydrosilylation. This invention further discloses a method for producing dicycloalkylsubstituted silanes by reacting a halo-or alkoxy-silane with a unsaturated cycloalkenyl compound in the presence of oxygen and a hydrosilylation catalyst.
Abstract:
A method for the construction of recombinant DNA molecules capable of producing biologically active human nerve growth factor (hNGF) in insect cells is disclosed. Expression of the mature protein is achieved using the baculovirus expression system. The biologically active hNGF so produced is potentially of value in the treatment of patients suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and other neurological disorders.
